We definitely needed another goal scorer, don't let hindsight affect your opinion. At the end of last season, Barca was struggling for goals and goal threat that didn't come from Messi. Neymar last season was not a goal threat. Alexis was terrible in UCL and couldn't score outside Camp Nou. Barca were definitely in need of a proven scorer.

Alexis could have been kept, he's a good player that had improved at Barca and was likely to continue to do so, but that doesn't mean the team did not need improved scoring.

We can question the wisdom of spending so much for Suarez, but we're doing this under the situation of his and the team's current struggle to prop our argument, which is unfair. At the time of his purchase, Suarez was the EPL's best player and had almost single handily taken Liverpool to the EPL title.

I still think a lot of what's happening to him is not of his doing. This team is struggling in too many areas to blame lack of production on the players alone. When the entire entity is struggling for the most part, we have to look at the bigger picture.

Watching his goal again and again, the dummy to nutmeg the defender is disgusting. That is his signature move, how are we going to see more tricky turns like that? Give him the ball when he is isolated with only one defender on him so he can turn him. How do we do that? Stop with the stupid sideways passing approach and get the ball to him more and QUICKER.

1) for many Suarez was arguably the best player in the world or the best striker in the world last season.
Not for me. For me Suarez is overrated.

2) I have never been in favor of the purchase of this player, never.
Considering the point 1 + given the bad and psychopathic reputation that he has, I would not have bought him even if he cost 1 euro.

3) I do not like him as person. A person who bites repeatedly players (which fucking mental illness does he have to bite people!?!?) and is also banned for racist insults... for me can go fuck off, and do not want him in my club.

4) As I wrote before, he is a player we did not need (if a striker, a tower, like Mandzukic or Llorente). We could spend much better these 80 millions, we had other priorities (midfield and defense), but yes, in this case you are right, not his fault, the board is to blame.

Suarez is far superior to Llorente or Mandzukic. Why would you want those players?

I think one reason for his not-so-great performances so far is the fact that Neymar is playing on his position. While Suarez is pretty universal player (when Neymar played on RW he looked like crap), he's the best on center-left position exactly like Neymar, Ronaldo, Henry, Villa etc, when he can cut inside and shoot. His best goals this season were when he played on left. Even if you look at his highlights from Liverpool most of them are Suarez cutting inside from left side.

It is a weapon extra to have a tower in front (like Mandzukic or Llorente), vs parked bus teams (but not only) could be usefull to have a tower, a good header in front, so that it make sense to cross if we can't go through the middle.

About Suarez, at the moment i do not see any improvement with him on the field.
I expect him to make a difference in big match. But as said, for me he is not a phenomenon as many say.

I don't know what happened to Suarez, he's confused, he seems like lost in the pitch and misses everything he undertakes.
up to now i don't see the difference between suarez and sanchez(except the price).

I hope that Suarez finds his real skills as soon as possible. we need him with us.
