Eto'o thrived because Messi was still young and he was both a proven player and the best striker we'd had in a while, Eto'o truly was a fantastic player, so deadly.

Eto'o didn't have to worry about having to pass to Messi or please Messi, he did what he wanted yet was a team player. That work ethic too. Players, especially new ones, are pressured to please Messi. I'm not saying it's because Messi is some crazy dictator, but it's definitely in the back of their heads and that alone can really throw off a player. I still believe in Suarez because he is a player capable of adapting to many situations in attack and he is unique in so many ways that he is a nightmare to mark. I'm betting once he scores a bit more and becomes more familiar with the squad and organization he will be immense.
