9 - Robert Lewandowski

Imo the first tap in chance was harder than it looked like, Raphi's pass came with good pace and Lewa stretched so he is able to get the ball into the direction of the goal.

Should have done better in that chance where he controlled the ball perfectly. He had a lot of space around him and enough time to place the ball better.

True.

Should have taken another touch for the 2nd chance.

Anyway, this has one extremely off-topic. Andresito is gonna be on the warpath - I see 24 hour bans for some of us.

Lol at temporaryFan insitigating it all then barely getting involved
That's because I was at work driving....three hours later the hell broke loose... Ha ha ha.

I am 100% good that we disagree Ronaldo
vs Messi, also on who they are besides being excellent footballers, but even there my choice is Ronaldo, hands down.

I am highly skeptical about the rape allegations, even though I don't know the details. There were so many lame rape cases in the last 20-30 years involving sport celebrities including M. Tyson, M. Jordan, Coby Braynt, Robin van Persi that this one would not surprise me as just another money grab from an alleged victim.

We would need to waste too many keystrokes to argue who is a better man in terms of being intelligent, ethical, sensitive on social issues or better accomplished in general education but in a scenario when I would spend hours on a plane flight say from Chicago to Paris and be given a choice to be seated with Messi or Ronaldo and my task would be to keep the conversation going, I'd opt for Ronaldo. I think, we could find topics to talk about while with Messi not so much.

Wlodzimerz Lubanski who was another forward / striker, who debuted for Polish NT in late 1960s, as a 15 year old and who was arguably more talented than Lewa, once said, after missing too many chances in one match, that another striker an his mentor, Ernest Pol (R.I.P.), told him in the locker room "Sonny, it don't matter you fucked up all those sitters, what matters is that you had them."

Saying that Lewandowski should have done better converting the chances by doing a double touch or jumping up earlier or later, or hitting the ball stronger or this or that is only easy on hindsight. Would Haaland or Benzema have done better? No way anybody can guarantee that.
I gotta go...

Mask off moment @KingLeo10
Mask?! I have none.
Listen up.
It really was not my intention to bash on Messi here.
Knowing that this is a Barca forum, I realize I wasn't sensitive or tactful enough saying things I said about him in that form and fashion. Perhaps, I was speaking out of my ass too, angry and unhappy... But by saying things I did, I was intentionally taking a swing at you, seeing your avatar and nickname and all... hoping it would hurt. I realize he is quite a legend here and his football skills are undisputable but you are the fellow that irked me a lot with your negative energy spewing in this thread and others, not only about Lewandowski but also Flick and the direction this club was taking so far, which instilled a great deal of hope in me that this season was going to be entertaning, joyful and great. I am sure it is still going to be great...said enough.

Other than that,
if anyone else of you, dear seasoned Barca fans, and also Leo Messi admirers, felt offended, I apologize but let's keep some due composure saying things that might hurt feelings of others too.

Haaland would have already failed to control the ball 🤣

Are we finally realising that we need a striker for 2026 Feb onwards?

Or are we still insisting that "If RL9 is in the team he starts circa 2026", cuz if thats the case, I can garantee you we are not winning any thing when the season becomes tough around Feb 2026. Lewa will be 38.

Are we still willing to sacrifice our succes inorder to save money? And look for cheap/ok deal which are not good enough to win us games, if Lewa isnt one either.

He's here until 2027. There were already rumors about extension and we know how this club works. These 3 solid months earned him another year if we like it or not. It's probably gonna be the downfall for Flick but it looks like he's happy with it.
