I can somehow tolerate his ball control and heavy touches as long as he bangs a goal or two and doesn't waste what you give him like a certified donkey. Last few games he has been doing just that.
But that particural goalscoring abyss, from what I can logically assume, is not a result of his age. If you look at some of his misses against Leganes and Atletico, you know he would score them all 2 months ago. Even if you brought a 50 year old Lewandowski he would probably score an opportunity from 3 meters in front of goal being alone with the goalkeeper, which he missed on 2 occasions in last 2 games. I feel like it's more of a mental thing. Even Lewy himself said, after the Atletico game, he felt less confident in front of goal lately.
So I don't know. Winning something big with a 36 year old truly is a hard task. But with a slightly more confident, motivated 36 year old it could be easier to do. Maybe these holidays will help him come back a little, hopefully.
