9 - Robert Lewandowski

Like Onefootball didn't even put Lewandowsky in top 20 players in last 20 years.

If someone can track back Pele's career and then why do you think people from future can't do the same?

He got the Golden Boot twice, two Fifa best player awards, countless Bundesliga best player of the year, and best ever goal record, in the last decade alone. The stats are his engravings on the mmonument which will last for eternity. He'll be remembered as one of the best long after onefootball falls into oblivion.

Well, the good thing is that Flick is taking him off with 20-30 to spare and realises he is off form.

Just a shame there is no alternative, as Ferran is post injury and prob out of form for the rest of the season again .
That's why you all should appreciate the power of RL9. He's so indestructible - as in that song by Spandau Ballet.

He is a tractor? Even so, at least made from steel, making others look like they are made from glass.

Common, You all ungrateful bunch.
I implore you.
Kneel down before RL9, the panelty box emperor.
kiss his ring. Apologize and beg for forgiveness.

After winter break his body will need a few matches to get warm, he is 36 guys, at this age its normal to have crap matches here and there

our main problem is that we dont have a real replacement so need to trust him + Ansu

He should hit the gym with you. You could teach him how to get back to peak performance physically. He speaks German so it'll be easy for you. You could be his trainer.

His goalscoring ain't to be shabby this season, but damn he sucks. Would 10 out of 10 times take (peak) Mandzukic, who's for me the posterboy of lesser talents delivering more for the team than washed up worldclass ones despite worse numbers.

Keiser Franz Beckenbuer said Mandu was a lazy boy and otherwise problematic from a disciplinary angle. He and Pep did not get along. So, saying that he was better is a moot point. Just like saying someone is better but they don't play dut to injury...or they're toxic. RL9 is ready always.

It is what it is, let's hope he scores when it REALLY matters from now on. I worry though, A LOT, about next season... dude looks done already, and we're going to pay him 30ish millions next season  dude barely runs now ffs  I really hope there is something going on behind the scenes, we can't have him here next season - as backup making 10ish million sure, but not how the contract looks now. Fucking joke...

Haters here still questioning his career after this.

Incredible peak. Incredible consistency. Incredible longevity.
The problem with not looking beyond goal stats, or context.

The guy scores goals but even at his best he was only acceptably good in the link up phase. Really good hold up play but clearly someone like Modric, Xavi or Iniesta are much better footballers than him. Iniesta and Xavi ar 100 times more legendary in Barca history despite scoring far fewer goals. Also, he scored a lot of goals for Bayern in the Bundesliga, it is hardly an amazing achievement.

This is the problem with modern football fans - counting up stats, which are often in poor context and omit valuable information like stat padding.

He's scored a lot of goals for Barca this season but every time I have watched him he's been on the periphery of games and dosn't help the TEAM function better (other than the Clasico).

It's about Barca winning, not Lewandowski's personal goal tally. Sometimes I don't think fans realise that all that matters is the team.

Overall I don't really know why you are obsessed with this guy, both personally and professionally. It's celebrity worship and stan behaviour. You are a grown man obsessing over a footballer who doesn't know you exist, I find it bizarre (though you are far from the only grown man who does so). Plus he is very bland as a man anyway, outside his very good looks.

This is a thread for Barca fans to analyse his performances. It isn't your personal shrine to him.

Not sure why you are laughing - are you denying the individual should be subservient and secondary to the team? Or that Bayern had a monopoloy over the Bundesliga? Or that Robert's all-round game isn't really that good relative to players he is compared to? All seem fair shouts to me.
