9 - Robert Lewandowski

I'm surprisingly not too hard on keeping Lewy next season.

We don't have the personnel but we are showing a diminishing role to him lately which will continue to increase next year.

Roque was a bust (though we should be able to cash out as Palmeiras were willing to buy for purchase fee this winter- but that didn't work for Betis), so this market we need to go and sign a rotation options.

It's sad that even Brighton have more financial muscle to take a punt on Greek lad but it is what it is.

We should probably go for David, I don't think he will be huge, but I do think David/Lewy can be serviciable for next season and is budgetary.

Any replacement would be welcome. In the worst case scenario, Pau Victor should be given the minutes what Lewanflopsky is usually getting and see how it goes. We may have a surprise. Finger crossed!

Lewy is benefitting our setup that currently is disguising his weaknesses. I think Lewy should be grateful for the setup because it benefits him a lot, especially compared to last year.

His stats are pretty good but I think for a CF in this setup they could be even better.
He is the biggest underperformer of xG in the team ahead of Raphinha and Yamal. It's not by much but those two aren't known for being prolific goal scorers.

Imagine having a CF who is overperforming xG, like Isak or Kane while also adding to buildup. I think we have plenty of potential to improve the team by getting a new CF, even if Lewy is doing well stat wise.

Goals are top priority for a striker. Lewa is delivering there.

But there is also question does he make his teammates better in a way Lamine, Raphinha or anyone else does?

On the other hand can Kane or Isak score in big games like Lewy? 👀
I would switch him for Isak but not for Kane, dont feel Harry would score as much im big games as Robby

You wouldn't take Kane but would take Isak due to the big games thingy?

What has Isak ever proven in big games?

Barcaforum said he had no chance
40 million down the drain
RL9 scores again

If RL9 was in his prime, he'd already have 40 goals easily with elite all round play.

Barca fans seem to have forgotten the first 6 months of RL9 in a Barca shirt. That was the last display of his prime. You people are lying to yourself if you claim his all round game wasn't elite in his peak.

He was everywhere under Xavi and influencing nearly every goal Barca were scoring before the World Cup.

Now he's 36, washed up and more of a poacher. Still the best shooter/penalty box predator on the planet.

Nope, he's 95% useless when he doesn't score, Lamine and Raphinha impact the games even when they don't provide goals or assists.

Sounds like your are describing RVN, but he's about to score more goals than he ever did in a single season.

I was gonna say, sounds like you're discribing the de jong of strikers, but I've had enough of your laughing emojis lol.

But seriously just have to accept him for what he is and hope we figure something out next season.

I was pretty confident he would produce a good amount of goals this season, but next season I think even that will dry out, the tractor in running on fumes now.

The Polish cult here is getting out of hand.
A bit like that, we are happy that we have such a player - we know what our league is like and we haven't won any trophies for years. Nevertheless, we get irritated when many members of this forum refer to him as the worst, tractors etc. A bit of objectivity would be useful because his numbers at the age of 36-37 speak for themselves. Look at other players similar to him - where were they at that age and what kind of bellies did they have? Barcelona fans should be quiet that a 37-year-old guy with big earnings is doing his job as best he can and he is doing quite well so far, and as I wrote once before - I believe that this year FCB will win not only the LL but also the UCL and all the cups.
