[Contrary to reports, Lewandowski's contract will not be automatically renewed. His contract is valid until 2026.

There is, however, a clause that allows Barcelona to unilaterally terminate his contract at the end of this season.]

This is new. We can terminate his contract this summer? :)
Tru but unfortunately:

If he does not reach a certain percentage of matches between now and the end of the season, it will be Barça who can unilaterally terminate his contract.

"The two parties agree that, in the event that the participation ("matches played") of the PLAYER during the third season (2024/25) is less than 55% of official matches, FC BARCELONA will have the right to terminate this employment contract early."

The text also specifies that a "match played" will be any match in which he is a starter or in which, without being a starter, he reaches 45 minutes.

The Polish striker has already played 31 of the 34 games played by the team this season, but Barça could end up playing a total of 51, which means that, for the moment, he has 50.8% of official matches, the only ones that are counted.

To exceed 55% and leave the club without any option of terminating his contract, he would have to play three more games. So things stand, Lewandowski can be much more relaxed than he was already because the striker is a regular for Flick and, in that sense, he had more than signed the fourth year of his contract.

Funny you say that because on bayernforum people are whining that Kane should stay up the pitch because by going into the midfield for the buildup hes naturally inviting the defense line to move closer. Hes also scoring slot of tapins and he doesnt really offer much to Bayern, they would do fine without him. They still lose ocassional match with 3rd league club and still struggle on CL with him
He'd do great (better than Lewy) in Flick's setup is the point. Doesn't matter what he does for Bayern currently.

We could do that if he would play less than 55% of games this season which clearly won't happen

also, not really new, that clause was reported at the time he signed. It was always a 4-year contract to lower amortization costs (though only for 4-5m per year).

Only good thing is he'll earn 6m less next season but he'll be even more useless on the pitch. 2026 can't come soon enough.

A 31 one year old does better than a 36 year old?

A 31 year old Lewy is better than the current Kane in any system.

a 31 one year old lewa would be miles better than this kane. Prime lewa is better or as good as prime benzema and prime suarez. Kane is good but as all english player he is overated.

Kane is better than Benzema. Dribbling is the only thing Benzema has over Kane.

Although Benzema has done more in big games because he got countless opportunities as Real Madrid's striker. When he didn't turn up, no one cared because the other superstars at Madrid did and they won.

Kane barely got to play the biggest games as a Tottenham player. Tiny sample space. He was injured in the CL final.

Kane is anything but overrated. Amazing player with an amazing passing range. If anything, he's underrated because of the trophy count.

Only RL9 and Suarez are better strikers from this era. Harry is elite and would never end up with a 5 goal league season even in the weakest teams.

I know this forum has a thing for Benzema. Much like he has for 15 year olds. But I don't care.

Kane is properly rated.

Had more than enough big games for spurs and England and didn't show up.

No one forced him to stay at spurs for as long as he did, that's not a positive for him, that's a negative.

Having decided to leave spurs entirely too late, he chooses to go to Bayern and the bundesliga.

He's not getting credit for making ass decisions his entire career then going to the one big team in Europe that guarantees him a few league titles late in his career, although they failed the one season he was there lol.

he's in the conversation as one of the better strikers of his generation and that's about it, or to make it sound a bit better, the best striker outside the actual great strikers of this generation.

That's like giving a lazy mofo credits for being at a job for 10 years and never pushing for a promotion and trying to spin that into a positive.

I mean kane doesnt have a single trophy. In football it is all about winning trophys. Nothing more so no kane is no big player.

Let‘s wait until may if he wins cl with final goal i say ok but man he couldnt win bundesliga with bayern. And bayern won it 10 years in a row. I hope leverkusen to win it again so kane stays without a trophy.

and i doesn‘t know anybody who doesn‘t say english players are overrated and overpaid😂

Yeah let's blame the player for being loyal to his club. This is such a privileged Barca fan take.

As a Stevie G fan, I hate it when fans diminish players for their loyalty. Madrid, Chelsea, United, Inter and several other clubs tried to sign him but the guy stayed loyal to us and won some big trophies for the club. Same with Totti.

Trophies don't necessarily make you a better player. Big Virg is better than almost every defender with huge trophy cabinets.

Ditching their husband for a richer man doesn't make them a better wife, does it?
