9 - Robert Lewandowski

23 goals this season (3 penalties) and leading scorer in both Liga and CL.

He is doing fine tbh, not many good no9 press in the world atm, and most of those who does aren't anywhere near his scoring ability.

He is who he is at this age, a goal scorer. He scores it is all good, he doesn't then he barely contribute. It isn't like we hava a Halaand or new Suarez waiting on the sideline to bench him.

Kudos for Flick for taking him out more in the past few games, btw.

Haaland isn't doing any better, funny that Barca fans suck him off so much generally.

like all City players he has declined a lot, probably of their peds after the investigations started

There’s a clear trend with Lewa

That's how he started his first season here.

World class until the World Cup , disasterclass after.

When telling people to chill and wait for a full season , for a better context , his ass lickers called people haters.

Regardless , he has 16 goals in La Liga in December which is 3 goals less than all of last season. He's had a great start of the league until now.

He definitely needs to be rested more though.

We're playing against Leganes at home next game so maybe start him on the bench and get him fully rested for the game against Atletico.

6 days rest until Atletico after Leganes game, we should start him and take him off after 75 minutes

also i think Shark is waaaaaaaaaay better if he comes from the bench, his starting performances have been meh if i remember correctly

Cata Siu.

Similiar to his first season. Top in the first half then bottom in the secons half of season. But at least there won't be World Cup this year and he can fully rest.

He's been great and he has done his job perfectly. We shouldn't let blame fall on him because he is not the perfect striker at age 36, what we are getting from him considering his age is more than adequate, he is a prolific goalscorer.

With more rest, as Flick seems to be giving him, maybe his performance can last most of the season instead of the first few months.

Kudos for basic squad management any rookie manager should know

How far we have fallen, I’d give him kudos for doing this when we were winning 5-0 before we dropped points
It does take some courage to bench a player like Lewandowski when your team desperately needs goals

I reckon most people have learned that already because some of our previous managers were scared of benching the veterans in order not to, God forbid, hurt their legacy. This was a very common practice, which also heavily contributed to the clownery our club experienced in Europe in the last decade.

It is finally coming to an edge under Flick, who has a meritocratic system of choosing lineup and bases it mostly on player form and recent performances.

Big difference. The problem before was he was getting some service and NOT scoring.
Now in this period of "downfall" he's not getting any service.

So we have to look at his conversion rate is 30%, which is incredibly good.

Often I see criticism for his pressing but if we're honest he works 100x harder in defense than Suarez or Messi did in their later years here and they were a lot younger then. He's far from a pressing machine that Flick's system need and we should move on from him after the season (we won't of course) but I give him credit for that.
