9 - Robert Lewandowski

OK.
If he is that bad. Someone give me a reason of why he is a starting player, not only under Flick but was also under Xavi.

No contract in the World could be designed in such a way that a player performing as bad as he does, as you claim, in a detrimental way to the overall team effort, if not outright sabotaging, is guaranteed a lineup spot each game.

You really must think you know better than Flick. Is Flick dumb ? Then look at the table and see who has the leader spot.
No alternatives, huge contract, admitting to signing an old star whos past it

He also has bonus points for being a great player in the past and earned respect. You do not get rid of someone like that over 2 matches.

1. Personal relationship bias
2. Historical performance bias. Fallacy of used to be great = still great, just needs to regain form.
3. Decision optics. Benching a star player and top scorer exposes you to public criticism and internal distrust if the replacement doesn't immediately yield results.

I understand the earlier given speculations,
I don't necessarily dismiss them all, as nonsensical but dismiss them as too flawed, nonetheless.

Herr Flick cannot afford to put his career at risks, already blemished by German NT fiasco, by some sentimental favoritism from the Bayern days. Absolutely not.
The only motives of starting Lewandowski
are based on unbiased calculations, observations and thus derived expectations...let's call it a football calculus which takes into account the whole season, not random ups and downs.

Maybe RL9 will not start today, in favor of a false 9. Let's see if you can get what you wish for and with what outcome.

Back when RL9 used to have the best first touch and amazing technique. I miss prime RL9 so much! People on this forum have no clue about his technical brilliance(they have forgotten the first 6 months).

I recognize all of these touches. He has had A LOT of these when he was younger. I think part of his technique must have came from extreme training / commitment because usually players dont lose technique with age, like he does now...

He was known to be first for training and leaving as last. His great free kick technique came unexpectedly when he was actually closer to 30. He must have gained a lot of insights from his teammates as he has played with world class players.

Maybe with age hes not training as intensive as he used to and lost muscle memory, because a lot of his "tricks" were acquired and not natural talent
