Wow this guy's still here?

Back in the day I'd shit on the retarded barca board and retardo valverde for keeping around geriatric 698161986 year olds and demand to sell immediately... but with the sorry state of current gen talent I really can't blame Laporta or whoever here. Current gen is just fucking garbage.

Sad state of affairs when 36 year old lewandowski is considered by top clubs to be viable. Even 10 years ago dude would have been sent to China at this age.

Yes, we get it.

It's never his fault when he's shite.

I don't blame you for not seeing him in good positions, Yamal doesn't either, so you're in exquisite company. I sure regret not doing a screen capture here or there, I'd have an album now. Hard to watch games with that attitude though.

Anyway I'm not even saying he wasn't shite, but I'd say, I really don't know. You have to take into account that, when team plays bad or is outsmarted/ blocked, he is sure going to look bad as a last link in a chain. Not to mention, there are plenty of examples of teams even 2 leagues below blocking or beating stacked behemoths after 30 shots at goal, it just happens.

Have to say, I am kind of disappointed that him and Ferran didn't work, I thought it would and so did Flick apparently. It was a very good and needed game though, exactly what was needed before CL but after the comebacks and beating Atletico away, to prevent the team from thinking that matches are going to win themselves now.

All of you, both proLewy and antiLewy guys, are subhumans. You are getting into arguments over some pro football players who dont even know you, who have more ambitions, money and purpose than your entire bloodline.
The funny thing is, you are calling me a trolling autistic weirdo (lol) yet I have made this point many moons ago on here, long before you did. Caring about people who are completely irrelevant in your life, and total strangers. See Dembele thread and others. The only difference is you're putting these guys on pedestals for materialistic bollocks like 'money and ambition', whereas I don't.

Football means FUCK ALL and footballers are otherwise mostly useless cunts who happen to be world-class at something that is unfortunately in severe demand. See C Ronaldo, who displays every negative personality and intellect trait under the sun, and has absolutely nothing going for him other than being good at football. He would be in the gutter right now if football hadn't granted him an escape, he'd be the absolute dregs of society. That goes for many other clueless players, too.

I love (or more accurately loved) watching football, but if I had the chance to wave a magic wand and wipe the professional game from existence tomorrow, I would do it without hesitating. That includes Barca and Messi, by the way. It's causing so much harm to society, as are other forms of entertainment.

You're as bad as anyone though as you sound like you think you're inferior to Messi (bit ironic you calling me autistic while licking Messi's hole...) just because he's a football genius. When, in every other human respect, he is utterly unremarkable.

There's a serious problem in this society with putting celebrities - and especially footballers - on pedestals for being top class at one thing that is in demand, but ultimately doesn't even fucking matter.

I don't feel inferior to Messi myself - he's miles better at football than me but I am better than him in other ways. The fact he's so superior in the thing that is most in demand means fuck all to me.

Nobody should ever be treating footballers like they are gods, like Tempt does with Lewy, Beckham and Ronaldo, or Fati does with Ronaldo, or guys do with Messi. It's weird and a slippery slope to worshipping false gods. Messi is the greatest player ever but I have said many times I think he's a bit of a cock and I'd actively avoid him in person. Ditto Ronaldo. Ditto Maradona, who I maybe like as a player even more than Messi, but was a criminal.

I just really don't value being a football genius when weighed up against all the other stuff in life that matters more.

Btw, I stream on IPTV, refuse to pay for tickets to stadiums (as they get more and more expensive and the games and experience get worse and more identikit) and rarely if ever buy football merchandise or shirts. I put very little to no money into the game, by design, so I can say most of this without being a hypocrite.

People say medical staff keep us alive and entertainers make us want to be alive. I still think people who save lives are way more important than fucking footballers, actors and singers, who are mostly delusional cunts high on their own self-importance.

Lewandowski is an intelligent, and well mannered man. Clean on the body (not even a single tattoo - tattoos are a plebeian thing) and clean on the soul. The classic gentleman.
Messi looks at best a halfwit (wasn't he a slow learner at school?) who can play the ball...that's all, all right then, he can play the ball...but when it comes to inviting them both to a banquet party where things in general are talked about, Lewandowski sits at the table and Messi stays in the hall.
Messi is indeed a pleb, but just because Lewy looks handsome and refined, it doesn't mean he is. Appearances can be deceiving.

Ultimately he has committed the grave mistake of believing muscles and a six-pack make him extremely fit (He has quotes on this), so like his worshipper Temptation, he can't be that smart.

I've heard him speak elaboratively on verious topics in his native language. Definitely, he is not dumb to think that a visible 6 pack is something to brag about publicly, unless someone asked him how his fitness allowed him to still perform at this level or something like that.
Lewandowski is very careful what he says publically. Too careful, to the point of making his statements dull and boring. I suspect if you read it on the Twitter or someone posted a quote like that, it was more of media exploiting it into someting clickable, than what he really meant. Something could have been thwarted in translation too.
Maybe it was. But it wouldn't surprise me if he said something like that.

He seems very much a 'longevity and look at my abs bro, me scoring goals matters more than me playing for the team' when it comes to football, like Crynaldo. Not saying he's as deluded as Creepnaldo, though.

Good post.

We've already discussed in the past that I also don't enjoy modern football anymore. Still watch because I'm used to but have hard time being fully focused or entertained for 90 (well, more like 100+ minutes these days with extended added time in most games) minutes regardless of who plays so often just have some football game(s) in the background on TV (or go through multiple of them) while I play FM or do other stuff.

Agree with you that people's unhealthy obsession with certain players is ruining both the game and society (that is fecked up anyway and I have zero hope for) but an even bigger factor is the money involved these days alongside corrupted dictators at the top of clubs and organizations like La Liga, UEFA, FIFA,... Pretending like they care about the players but all they see is the money. If people in charge would actually care about the product they would decrease number of games and let players recover and be at their best in every game.

Instead they are adding new irrelevant competitions almost every year and most players are playing injured/unfit and then people wonder why they are not as good anymore. As a fan (or more a follower nowadays) would appreciate if I'd see less games but of a higher quality. Instead they mostly replaced quality with quantity because people (mostly those you've mentioned who worship players like semi-Gods) don't care and still pay big money for this highly devalued product.

Fixtures are also getting closer to NBA/NHL ones and I'm sure people in charge would love to make it like a MLB season playing every day if they could. People there don't care if they lose a game because they have another one in a day or two and football is going the same direction. Long gone are the days when you had a full week between two games and could appreciate an important win or think what went wrong in a loss. Excitement was also higher when you had to wait to watch your favorite team for a longer time. Now there isn't the same buzz anymore.

Yes thanks mate. Good post yourself and that stuff you mention is more about the game and its logistics itself, rather than the fan obsession. I would argue they're intertwined though - the more money there is, the more prominent the players are, the more famous they are, the more people obsess over them, the more the game becomes like an entertainment product rather than a sport.

Everything you say is a massive problem too and it's all interconnected. I love football as a sport - the idea of passing, dribbling, shooting, tactics, tackling, interceptions etc - but all the on field and off field stuff is really putting me off. Maybe it's just me getting older but a lot of people seem to be feeling this way too.

@delancey still rent free as ever.

Hope that the mods are noticing the obsession.
Don't go crying to the mods (on a very loosely moderated forum). You are better than that.

I only mentioned you because of your little bummy love in with delancey the other week, where you couldn't help but have a go at me in threads I wasn't even part of, or had a go at me completely unprovoked. Monte even noticed it and so did others.

You can now consider us even and I won't acknowledge you in future in a negative aspect. Also, you cannot say I am not a fair guy, as I have quoted you and agreed with you several times (and liked your posts) since we have 'fallen out'. I'd also be willing to make amends, but you clearly have taken some of the stuff I said badly and refuse to let bygones be bygones. It's not like you didn't say horrible things to me either.

I judge the post, not the poster. But it's true you won't know who Boniek, Lato, Denya etc, when comparing them to Lewandowsi. It's not necessarily a bad thing - you just don't have the knowledge of past players (Unless they're very well-known) some others have. No biggie.

I propose a truce anyway and I won't mention you negatively if you don't me (unless it's to disagree with a football opinion).
