To the individuals who keep repeating the same nonsense about flick doing miracles

43 goal Contributions
35 Goal Contributions
41 Goal Contributions.

In roughly the same about of games.

Now watch them try to say his overall play is better now or some dumb shit to make an excuse as to why they are wrong again.

The man like him or not just knows how to contribute in attack period.

I've just read that he was a player doing the most of pressing against BVB for Barcelona, with only Pascal Gross having more presses (38 vs 33) . Wasn't even a praise, the article was actually whining about it, and questioning the purpose of fielding him when at 4 goal advantage, especially that he already had a slight problem.

Anyway, if true, then kind of another I told you so, that he is a different player in business end all or nothing games. Also kind of questions the analysis put forth by the likes of Ramos Ultra, that the advantage here is youngsters pressing more - Lewandowski would press normal in CL SF.

Still I'd believe in Flick's ability to use his weapons well, this is far from over. Wouldn't blame him for Lewandowski either, the latter always wants to play, might have downplayed the pain, especially with the 100 in 100 crap before him. He was actually being murdered out there, but it's hardly a novelty, and Flick probably wanted to rest him in the next one. Anyone might snap at any moment with this schedule anyway, it's all risk.
38 is huge! For perspective, here's the 21/22 statsbomb for EPL forwards

Turbo Can't Score Werner always praised for his pressing hovered at 22.5 which in itself is impressive. CR munchin on donuts like a NY 👮‍♂️at 2.7 😂

Our PPDA (Passes Per Defensive Action) is one of the best in all 5 leagues

Schedule is overloaded but rules have yet to adapt. UEFA could adjust by:

1/ increasing subs to 9 per game (tactical battle of wits btw managers able to adjust on the fly would be fly!) within a 3 subs window

2/ increasing the active roster to 60 and either soften FFP or do away with player's registration & calculate FPP game per game based on the players fielded

3/ implement salary and sign-on bonus caps :stv172:

Saw this also from that game, not sure how legit though:

The article was from a proper sports writer. They called it what would translate to pressing jumps. I assume it's the same stat, high numbers coming from both teams pressing more on average, and the weight of the game maybe.

From 8-9 to only 3 assists, Flick stole him his playmaking skills :whip:

He is older so it's better in my eyes, I guess you could argue the team is better so easier to rack up goals and assists.

There's way more truth to RL9 helping Flick than Flick helping RL9 based on their respective careers lol.

RL9 has always been very successful everywhere. Flick got eliminated from the CL against PSG the moment RL9 got injured and failed badly at the German National Team job.

Lacked his finishing but all games he didn't start/play this season we experienced some pretty high level of football and a lot of fluidity (Mallorca home and away, Betis in CDR, Valencia 2x). Quality of opponent at play as well but it's evident at this point, we'll see if it helps against Inter/Madrid or not.

The thing is that Robert, even at his worst, always occupies atleast 2 defenders due to his reputation alone. Other attackers don't have this gravity. Defenders and managers respect him a lot and plan accordingly.
