Apart form CR and his sister.

Let's be honest, everyone cheered for Messi to win the Copa this year. Even Brazilians wanted that for him.

Brazilians cheering for a loss should be ashamed tbh, and btw, your "everyone" doesn't include everyone anyway.

I know it doesn't really include everyone. But can't see many being bitter over it or not secretly wanting to see the greatest ending of a footballing career ever.

Don't think there were many Brazilians that actually favored Argentina to win it over Brazil. I think a lot of them were just communicating the idea there is some comfort in Argentina winning it because of Messi.

You'd be surprised. There are a lot of non-Ronaldo, non-Real Madrid football fans who really don't care that much about Messi out there.

Its a bit hard to care about copa when they've had, what, 4 in 6 years?

And the less said about the upcoming world cup, the better.

I would wager that Argentina would be the neutral fan's favorite against any country they face in a possible WC 2022 final. Just because of Messi.

Overall I think the BdO generation of players born in the 80's ended tonight.

Crazy when you put it like that, it started in 2005 (2004 if you consider FIFA award, which was equally important almost everywhere outside Europe) and if it indeed ends in 2021 it is a long 17 years of domination. R10 (1) Kaka (1) Lewa (1 FIFA) Modric (1) CR7 (5) Messi (7), Cannavaro got it once in 2006 for one last hurray from players born in 70's
Feels good for someone like me who is born in that decade
