Bayern up for a rude awakening. It's not so easy to replace goal amounts Lewa scores.

I don't love paying huge amounts for old players but he is one of the best right now and our current goals scorer ain't very good, other than Auba and Luuk.

I'm almost starting to think this'll be a reasonable transfer. This is under the condition that he can perform for 2 seasons. A stop gap to make us title-competitive while the teenagers mature.
He's been scoring around 50 goals for 3 seasons now. Before that he was usually around 40. If we can get 2 seasons of 40-45 goals it could be a good transfer.

Fast forward to 2024.
Best case scenario we have a couple of domestic trophies (like 1 Copa, 1 LL ), maybe one Villarreal esque CL run where we reach SF.
Youngsters have become more consistent
Only 2-3 starters are 30 or above, including Lewandowski.
Economy is returning back to somewhat normal levels

2023 & 2024 has a lot of players with ending contracts. Hopefully we can snatch some reinforcements for cheap during those years.
If we can't find any cheap upcoming CF in 2023 to rotate with Lewa, we always have 2024 to find someone, this year we should be able to spend big if there are any clear options.
CF's emerge from nowhere it seems like. Two years from now we'll be after someone we've never heard of.

If we can get him for 35/40m then it's a no brainer. Our top goalscorer has 11 goals, which is OK for Man City who have a complete team, but for us that's a big problem. If Lewandowski can come in then that would fix that problem in the short term and will allows us to be more competitive over the next few years some time to find a long term fix.

Not to mention his fitness and professionalism which would hopefully rub off on the younger players.

35m fee+20-30m/year wages for three years... while realistically he's good for one (at best).

I don't know. Still cheaper than Griezmanns yearly cost though.

Ojo merchant, but still. Barca ready to offer 30-35m.

Fair deal.

Feels like we're heading for another Verratti saga though and then on September 1st we see on MD "Riqui Puig is the new 9!" after scoring in Gamper.

The man is an absolute goal machine and the market for strikers right now is very sparse let alone world-class strikers. It would be a huge upgrade to the frontline.

Robert Lewandowski wants to sign for Barcelona and play under Xavi. He has already decided that.

? @sport

.@MatteMoretto: "As I have been saying, Barcelona are well placed to sign Lewandowski. Let's see what happens in the meeting with Pini Zahavi (Lewa's agent) and Bayern Munich."

Xavi has already spoken to Robert Lewandowski. Bayern Munich will try everything to renew him, but it may be too late. The player is really excited for a new stage in his career.

? @MatteMoretto

Sport: 'Lewandowski asks to leave'

❗️Mateu Alemany is currently in a restaurant in Barcelona with LEWANDOWSKI'S agent Pini Zahavi.

This is crazy.

True. Riqui Puig has all the traits to be a great false 9, Busquets too. Sadly, pigheaded Xavi cannot see what is right in front of him and we will spend 40m on a finished striker without Barca DNA. Even Jutgla would be better. He is scoring for fun with the B team.

Let's hope he will be world class for two more years then
