9 - Robert Lewandowski

Raphinha is not an elite wide players making runs in behind and hasnt shown that at Barca or Leeds.

Looks lost trying to do it and fucks up on the ball the rare time it happens more often than not.
I remember a good few goals he's scored for us where he entered the box or made a great run in behind @ Osasuna, Betis, Valencia etc.
More times the issue with him is he can't control the ball well after he gets it in behind but makes the right runs in the first place often.

Struggles with first touch on long pass for sure.

Kounde has had good few chances with those runs also but doesnt make Raphinha that wide forward type who will look to run in behind constantly and be a massive threat doing it.

Players like Salah/Son/ Viniscus even are obsessively looking for that ball and are a huge threat if find them early or even can find them 1v1 v a defender to beat.

They are all given the freedom to do it also and Raphinha more asked to keep wider and more structure than those other players are.

Raphinha is not that masive goal threat/wide forward type even if will make those runs on occasion... should be getting a lot more joy from it given how high a line opposition play majority of time.

So what's the over/under on goals scored if we opted for Lacazette compared to Lewa.

Hindsight and all that, but would prob have similar success at a fraction of the books imo.

We should get that Japanese fella from Brighton as well as Kimmich from Bayern. With those two signings as well as a couple of quality defenders and we would be able to compete for the CL.

He will end the season with 30 goals it seems, so purely from that prospective he's fine his job.

Will probably get around the same next season.

But against big teams his record is clear & was clear well before he came to Barcelona, nothing to right about there, until he changes that narrative.

He was poor in Europe and poor against better teams in the one trophy Barca won.

Was bought on that fee to help Barca go further in Europe to justify his huge fee also.

Scored less per min in league than Auba or LDJ last season and team won every league game he missed including on he got sent off in.

Nowhere near worth the cost on the books this season.

Ronaldo scored goals for Man Utd.. matters who you score them against as much as the total and probably a third of those goals v Elche/Plzn and no mark teams in cup.

Mate even if he comes up clutch next season, you lads will find a way to blame it on him. Let's be honest. Barca fans just think he lacks the club's DNA.

You could say he did his job, but his signing will probably not be worth it. His performances since the World Cup have for the most part been awful.

Hopefully we sign a young striker in the summer in case his level drops off even more next season.

That won't happen. Lewandowski has always prevented his clubs from signing proper backup strikers. He doesn't like to share minutes.

Even getting subbed in the 80th minute frustrates him and he spoils the dressing room morale.

Big players like him don't accept bench time. This could turn ugly like the CR7 vs ETH drama. If that's the plan, Barca should offload him before next season. Big characters have big egos.

I don't think he can come up clutch and we blame it on him, that's like literally impossible.

He played a big part in us keeping up with Madrid at the start of the season & will end the season with 30+ goals all comps, so gotta give him credit for that.

But he just doesn't show up in big games, (bro miss the open goal twice against Bayern), that's on him to change the narrative, Even Bayern fans says he doesn't.

But if he gets us 30 goals again next season & helps us to win the league, he would have been a good short term bridge, which is what he was signed for.
