9 - Robert Lewandowski

His hold up play has been terrible too often. His lack of mobility impact the team attack and options.

Scored decent amount of goals but largely aganinst the poorer teams and team been fine when he has been missing.

As a CF he is better than Auba etc even if gets les goals per min in league but needs to improve massively in bigger games... a large part of the reason he was signed and fee could be justified in part.

Barca could have spent a lot less and got better value whether win league or not is impossible debate really as is how would do in eurpope with another striker.

Could just as easily claim win league and do better in Europe with another CF better served for future.

Poor value so far.

I don't think he can come up clutch and we blame it on him, that's like literally impossible.

He played a big part in us keeping up with Madrid at the start of the season & will end the season with 30+ goals all comps, so gotta give him credit for that.

But he just doesn't show up in big games, (bro miss the open goal twice against Bayern), that's on him to change the narrative, Even Bayern fans says he doesn't.

But if he gets us 30 goals again next season & helps us to win the league, he would have been a good short term bridge, which is what he was signed for.

Like he admitted himself, Bayern was a unique case where he was overwhelmed by how soon he returned to that stadium.

He scored a brace against finalists Inter in a do-or-die situation. Not his fault that Pique and co shat the bed that game.

If we're really talking about clutch moments, then the Bayern game was the 2nd group stage game while Inter was the real clutch situation. By definition, the Bayern game wasn't a clutch moment or a big game. It was a group stage game against a big team.

Also, many people ignoring his leadership and winning mentality. He had a hugely positive influence on the biggest young assets of the club and that was the case from day 1. His professional attitude is likely to influence Gavi and Pedri to train better and smarter in the long run.

Plus, Barca hardly got any penalties this season and statistically he's one of the greatest penalty takers of all time(91.5% iirc). He didn't even get to show that side of his game. Every other big team striker got like 7-8 pens for the season.

So if he got them pens, he'd end up at around 36-37 goals for the season despite having a huge rough patch. His numbers have always been an absolute joke.

No you're just making excuses for him, it was a big game for the club for many reasons that are well documented and a big game for him personally and like you said he made the moment get to him.

Credit for the goals in scored against inter.

Of the 32 goals he scored 4 v Elche, 2 v Espanyol and 2 v Vallodolid.. the current bottom 3 in league.

2 v Cueta in Cup and 3 v Plzn.

That is 13 of his goals.

Zero goals v Real and Atletico in league.. even Ferran scored more v that two.

As for improving Pedri and Gavi... Gavi has been worse this season than last and Pedri is around same level and still getting injuries despite 'training better'.

Mate even if he comes up clutch next season, you lads will find a way to blame it on him. Let's be honest. Barca fans just think he lacks the club's DNA.
Come up clutch means scoring goals when they matter, not piling on inflated scorelines against Elche or Viktoria Plzen. Or meaningless consolation goals that he seems to score all the time.

The guy has been the definition of statpadder so far, despite an encouraging start to his time here.

Aubameyang was actually more effective against good teams than this guy. Scored just as many goals relatively and put in top performance against Madrid.

That won't happen. Lewandowski has always prevented his clubs from signing proper backup strikers. He doesn't like to share minutes.

Even getting subbed in the 80th minute frustrates him and he spoils the dressing room morale.

Big players like him don't accept bench time. This could turn ugly like the CR7 vs ETH drama. If that's the plan, Barca should offload him before next season. Big characters have big egos.

We'll try to sign Vitor Roque this summer who is basically his future replacement and if Roque turns out to be legit he'll probably be our starter from 2024/25.

Unless of course Lewandowski stops playing like a finished Luis Suarez.

There is little to no chance he will be Lewy replacement. I don't know and maybe I'm wrong but I can't see a top European team to buy no name 18 years old player and make him a star. Barca needs a striker who will be star for sure.

Would be another mistake by this Board to sign Roque imo. Better stick to the polish striker until a good european poven option arrives.

Roque doesn't strike me as a wonder talent or some player worth the trust and the investment, it's a far shot and imo a huge gamble.

He is short for a modern day striker and haven't seen an Aguero for quite some while now. All the top strikes in Europe atm have physical attributes, Haaland, Mbappe, Osimhen, Benzema, Lewandowski, Kane.

At least if Barca could manage a good deal with him financially but it seems that's not the case since he is expected to cost quite a lot.

Lautaro? Alvarez? Roque is actually strong and athletic despite lack of height.

Better stick to the polish striker until a good european poven option arrives.

And how much would he cost?
The Mbappe and Halaand of the world aren't coming here. We aren't the top destination we once were, there is no Suarez type of signing arriving.
We will be left with 3 options
1- Get an old proven one, again. This can work for immediate results, but it is costly on long run.

2-take a gamble early on someone: there are very different types of gambles, Roque is one of those, signing someone for B team cheaply is another. As the chances of making an impact increases, the asking price increase.

3- Sign someone with European pedigree: the Osimhen, Nunez of the world. They still cost an arm and leg, and still are gambles.

I don't know how good Roque will be, I am a bit a fan before we were even interested, he is that type of hard working young player who goes against the odds to prove himself. His dribbling is limited and he isn't flashy, but that is rarely a deal breaker for a 9.
The club clearly rates him, so let's hope they God it right.

Can't claim to have watched him bar highlights, but Gift Orban is still banging them in at a ridiculous rate in Belgium. That's 20 goals in 20 games since his January move to Gent. 19 in 24 (with 7 assists) previous to that in Norway.

If the scouting reports confer, well worth a look before the EPL money comes in (probably will already in Summer, but we would be in with a shout as an option I reckon).
