9 - Robert Lewandowski

The top 10 CMs are not all short... unless just start trying to pick out the ones that are.

Gavi does not have a similar physical profile to Xavi etc anyway.

He is much more squat and has Isco/Wilshere type build.

The biggest problem with Lewa is that he is never where he should be. From pure no.9 you expect much smarter movement in the box than he is showing right now. Furthermore, I hate the fact that he is never substituted, even when he is underperforming like yesterday.

He wasn't under performing.

1) he was isolated by 3-4 players the entire match

2) Barca could not create any chances, they slowed down the attack and allowed Getafe to park the bus

3) Barca players aren't looking for Lewy, they are looking to take it upon themselves to be the hero

Xavi did the right thing by keeping him on, as he was Barca's only hope to score the winning goal.

That didn't happen, because Barca as a whole is just not firing on all cylinders at the moment.
Their young players did well in preseason but are clearly not fit for prime time.

Barca clearly has a lot of things to sort out after this match as it exposed many of its weaknesses.

Better sooner than later.

Could this be the reason why the Mediterranean National teams are more successful than the Scandinavian/Nordic NTs?
Not really. Croatian average height is similar to those of Nordic countries and they also have a small population of 4 million. Netherlands has the tallest average height in Europe, yet they always played great football and are generally better than Nordic countries. The reason Nordic countries are less successful is because of multiple reason such as culture, climate, population size and more.

Nah being short, with a low center of gravity is advantageous.

It's either short stocky or at worst average height.
Not at all lol depends what you do as a midfielder
Useless to be a short stocky DM for example if team yields the ball a lot i.e. Atleti

Honestly a daft argument
Zidane, Koeman, Vieira, Kroos, KdB, Xabi Alonso, Kaka, Dinho, Rivaldo who have all seen a lot of the ball in a football match were 180cm or taller and that's not even going back to the proper olden days
Being athletic (or professional about it, rather than just having a natural bulk like some straight up fatass midfielders, including short ones) and great natural touch are a lot more important than mere height that might suggest you'll be harder to dispossess. Won't. Will just get bodied if dont have the other attributes

Inverse case in point how height doesnt mean anything - Busquets

Lewa falled badly but...

Xavi is also idiot.

You know that this Getafe idiots will play defensivly, and you play with same starting 11 that you would put against City.

In attack there is cardioman, oldman and leftback.

How can you score with so little offensive power, against park the bus team?

Xavi is guilty for this draw, you can't play same 11 against City ans Getafe.

Lewa is bad, bad we also didn't create much.

Auba currently carrying Marseille through their UCL qualifier with 2 goals in the first half.

Feel he has more legs in the tank than Lewa as they both enter the twilight stage of their careers.

It was an absolutely atrocious decision to sell him for peanuts and spend a fortune on Lewa.

With Auba we would have won the same trophies as last season and have a better fit for our slow front line today. All whilst saving a huge chunk of money and on our wage bill.
