It's laughable that anyone would actually believe Lewandowski is not physically fit.
Being physically fit is one thing, aging another. Just turned 34 myself. Of course I'm not a professional athlete like Lewa, but I'm very active, biking a lot and doing Calisthenics 4-5 times a week. Always laughed away age, but slowly but surely I'm noting changes in some parts. Never had an ankle injury, but ankles don't feel as mobile and smooth in movement as they used to.

Thinking of Suarez and Lewa, there was a point when their ball control didn't seem to be as it once was. Hell, they even look(ed) clumsy and like an elephant in the room at times.

I'm sure you can decelerate aging, but you can't stop it. With footballers that play more and more games, it is a question how much you can decelerate it with all of that stress for the body.

Any player reaching 33-34 is effectively in his post-prime and decline period. Some decline in 1 year, some in 2 or 3, but by 35-36 almost all are done at the top. Especially in attack where you need speed and quick reactions to get past the young defenders.

Only reason a club would sign 34-35 years old Lewandowski is due to lack of other, better options. It's a compromise.

Yeah, probably would have been better. But there was no way of knowing that Lewandowski would decline so fast. We also don't know that Aubameyang didn't want to go to Chelsea. Probably better contract for him too. Not to mention that the club got some decent money for him.

It's easy to play should've game after the fact.

Sure there was

Look at any other 34 year old ever

There’s a reason the transfer fees paid for players 31 and over aren’t high there’s like 2 large ones ever lol Lewa and Ronaldo

Well, Lewandowski is not your average 34 year old player. Was 2nd in Ballon d'Or in 2021. I agree there's a risk when you sign a player that old. We took it, got 1 good season out of him, need to see if we can get some money for him in the summer. If we can... not that bad.

If he goes for free, not a good deal overall, I agree.

Let's see what he does in the rest of the season also, plenty to still play for, even if winning the league is very difficult.

Here is what actually happened.

Xavi started experimenting.

As a result Barcelona struggled to produce chances.

Xavi then developed a new philosophy into his amazing system called "you can be a Lewandowski, you can be the goal scorer, believe in yourself, and also, forget about Lewandowski".

Yamal was then convinced he was Lewandowski too. In fact he thought he was better than Lewandowski. Better yet, he thought he was Messi.

Xavi thought so too.

It was all a brilliant plan by Xavi. It was almost like you can just believe you are male if you are female type of philosophy.

So what happened?

The service stopped going to Lewandowski.

As a result Lewandowski lost some of his confidence.

Recently he's been getting more chances, but his confidence is still just not there.

It's all just mental.

It's laughable that anyone would actually believe Lewandowski is not physically fit.
He looks strong enough this morning .

He is fit for his age, he moves rather well lately, stiffer than in the past for sure, but the man just doesn't score his chances. There's nothing he should moan about regarding the team. Instead, he should be furious at himself for needing 4 big chances to score one goal.
