I know, same shit for us if it is 0 games for double yellow or 3 for gestures. Or other way.

We play against Espanyol home, then 2 away games against Atletico and Betis.

It is a bit different because of the context. He stupidly got a second yellow and then even more stupidly went for the referee.

I get the impression he sees himself as too good for this club or league at times.

Malvolio making up rules for Lewa being in wrong and thinking he is 'too big for club'.

Never once claimed same when likes of Suarez/Pique would harass referees, his own team mates and along with amigos undermine coaches and influence the board.

Never mind.. cant have anyone who may play well for club and go against this idea would sink without Messi eh.

Did he go for the referee though? Saw him make the coacine sniffing gesture. What else did he do?

Mazano included details about Lewandowski’s “rude gestures” as he left the field in his official match report.

Harsh but stupid of him to put himself in that position.

He was later backtracking on how he and Xavi had some discussion prior to the match that something like this would happen.

Probably also told Xavi that he'll get a second yellow deliberately. Xavi laughed his ass off.

He was stupid and the bit about it being to Xavi is an excuse that doesnt wash as clearly still about referee and decision regardless.

But plenty players make actions/comments towards the officials and are never punished in this way.

Feels a bit like the officials taking it out on someone that they couldnt nail Pique with any meaningful punishment for his behaviour.

On the decision.. it was a clear red and to even blame the referee there was ridiculous.

The pro-Madrid LL decides cleverly:
3-game ban, so that it will get reduced to 2 after Barca's appeal, and make sure that he misses the important away game at Atleti

Even if the rules can be applied in this way, it seems very harsh given there is hardly any precedent for them being used like that & players and managers comment about referees all the time without being banned.

He was stupid both in receiving the red card and the gesture but this is a extreme punishment.

Ancelotti after the draw vs Girona: "the Ref invented a penalty"
No punishment

And then all the time in RM games, you see acts like this:

Of course, nothing happens if you wear white

Wouldnt say it is something Real get away with and Barca players dont as Barca have had been moaning/berating and making gestures to referees for years as well.

For them to clamp down on it now for a player is strange when not done so in past very often.

As said would not be surprised in slighest if that ref was pissed off at comments from Barca dressing room and likes of Pique and pehaps made more of Lewandowski reaction than normally would.

Ronaldo got done for similar in past and banned for gestures after a red while at Real. So there is a history of it. Just not consistent.

Ramos as well.
