Adama Traore

Mali's FA made that announcement in February that him and his brother (at Asspanyol) pledged to play for Mali after meeting with the two young kids and their parents...Apparently his older brother, Mohamed, had long decided to play for Mali and Adama made the switch but I've yet to read anything from the player himself

Well that's, odd... Hope he chooses Spain though, don't understand why he'd change his mind.

From what I see in the video, I doubt that he'd be that useful in our current tactical system. It seems that he loves running down the wing and afterwards crossing in the centre.
I don't believe that our team would benefit from his crosses unless Tata/a new coach will use a tall CF or will introduce counter attacking into our arsenal.

The one tendency he has right now that semi-frustrates me is that he makes himself home on the outside of the fullback, isolated. It's a great place to be when you want to stretch the play, but by no means should a player stay there as default.

Any and every single time that he's migrating around the inside of the fullback, he's much more involved in buildup play AND he can turn inside the FB and go on a mazy central run that leads to a great chance in front of goal. His close control, balance, and turning ability are outstanding along with his notorious power+pace combo.

Obviously he'd have to move around both sides of the fullback (inside and out) to be a successful winger but he needs to balance that out more intelligently so that he can cut in and get involved as a forward more often. The whole 'run down to byline and cross' deal iwas his trademark but he's been slowly doing that less and will cut it out with more coaching and experience.

A loan at a team that played like Barca would do him well, although I think it'd be better to just play him in Segunda for another year BUT make a concerted effort to play him in a lot of first team matches.

Adama will be an ox of a player, that strength he has on the ball is unlike those of Pedro, Sanchez, Neymar type wingers. Pure raw balance and power. Wish we would get a glimse at the end of this season.

Neymar/Deulo-Munir/Sandro-Adama/Deulo, with Messi playing behind the center forward, is what our lineup should be in a few seasons. 4-2-1-3 formation.

He should start getting playingtime with the main team next season under Luis Enrique. He's just an incredible talent. One of those rare players that very rarely come up the ranks from the academy that has something truly special about him - something more than just being good or promising. Some examples of this being Busquets, Iniesta, Xavi, Alba etc etc. Of course Messi is the prime example of this, but he's not only rare, he's a complete one-off. :D

But seriously, after watching him in the UEFA youth league, some Barca B matches and seeing videos like this, I just can't help but wonder why we keep scratching our heads thinking about what forwards we should splash money on to replace either Alexis or Pedro. Why not just promote Adama and let him get some experience at the top level? He's obviously ready for it in my opinion. I mean, if Raheem Sterling can grow with the task in Liverpool at the age of 19, Adama can do the same at the age of 18 for us. He will be 19 halfway into next season anyway (jan 25th).

Raheem (born December 1994)is just 1 year older than Adama (born January 1996) ,so Adama next season is as old as Raheem this year
tbh I won't mind having Adama&Deulofue on the wings as Sanchez&Tello replacement specially in case we signed a true no 9 .that said the Bojan experience has made a sort of a panic from rushing youngsters in this club ,it seems there is unwritten rule now that a player can't be with our 1st team if he isn't 20 years old

Adama's a complete package. A physical beast like Ronaldo with Messi/Don-esque finesse and skill
