I think it is reasonable. Douglas has a long term injury (and cannot be trusted anyway) and Jordi is injury prone and out at the moment which leaves us with two fullbacks. I can fully understand the decision to keep Adriano.

It would be reasonable, if Adriano wasn't even more injury prone than Alba.
This makes no sense. He has two years left on his contract.
Well he is the only fullback left to step in. Montoya was sold, Douglas is just there and Grimaldo will not be in the 1st team.
We have Alves and Alba as our starters and Adriano, that is it. Mathieu can play the position but on paper he is a CB, same with Sergi Roberto (who just played some minutes in preseason btw, no competitive games) who is a CM and no RB.
I do not want to see Adriano on the pitch against bigger teams by any means but there are more than enough matches to use him.
Edit: A contract renewal is unnecessary though. I agree with that.
Vermaelen can also play LB, and Grimaldo could be called from the b team if needed. Alves is rarely injured, and Roberto played better at RB than Adriano has this past season. For 5 months, it's more than doable. Aleix will be available in Jan.
I said I know the guys are able help out in those positions. But why take risks? Keep Adriano and have a deeper squad, that is what I am saying.
Roma is offering him a contract until 2018. His condition to stay is that Barça matches that.
