He was awesome at LB. Only did one thing at LW and that was pretty bad but.. yeah. He only played their for like 3 minutes so..

he was good but that back pass was way to heavy and he shouldn't have made it in the first place, abi would have just stop it and made a forward pass

Surprised at the comments here. IMO, I think Alba is way better than Adriano.

I've been a big fan of Adriano since his signing. He's playing LB for us in some big games and did great every time. He doesn't make mistakes very often and his positioning is pretty good for an attacking minded player as well. When he does make a mistake he's usually quick enough to handle it. Not to mention he cleaned up a lot of messes in the defense in big games, came out of no where on multiple occassions. Really underrated, I'm sure if he hadn't gotten injured so much more people would of realized that as well.

I think Tito rightfully started Adriano over Alba. More experience, had more time to rest and full pre-season.
Not too crazy about his game though. But then again, he didn't make mistakes either so I guess he did ok.

He keeps himself more available to defend the counterattack than either Alves or Alba, so it is nice to have one semi-responsible FB like this on the field. He had great energy in the first half yesterday. Passes and crosses well, he's willing to shoot, can beat people off the dribble, draws fouls. Fits in great, he'll never be a star on this team, but you don't even want stars at every position, Barca has plenty of those.

As far as what type of game he had yesterday goes, the question facing RM is always, did the defender get beat/humiliated? VV - yes, Busquets - despite his good game, beaten good by CR7 (no shame in that), the other defenders did fine.

Adriano is a great left back. His injuries have been an issue but we are definitely covered at left back. I'd venture ti say this guy is slighlty better than Alba on account of his experience.

With his injury problems and his age he will always be a squad player for Barca, a very good one, but that's it.

And probably that's why Tito preffered him right now instead of Jordi..it will take him some time to synchronize his movements with those of Dani and you can't risk against a team that has CR and Di Maria on the wings. Not to mention that JA didn't had a propper vacation(like the other spanish internationals from our squad did), so he should probably be rested more in the first month.

It looks likes sometimes we forget to put things in perspective and that's why Tello and Adriano are so praized, while Alexis and VV are crucified or JA is made to be a benchwarmer already. And while I understand that the expectations are different from those players I for one preffer to wait \a few months and see where we stand in La Liga before I pass any judgements about this competition between Adriano and Alba. Let's not forget that the Spanish Supercup, even if it's against RM, it's only a little more important than the Gamper.

Sure, you'd be able to find some bad performances, but most of them were during his first year or could be attributed to lacking match rhythm due to his constant injuries. He has hardly disappointed on the pitch given how low-key he was as a signing. He's been a great professional (despite being Brazilian); never complaining, always willing to help out, versatile and disciplined despite originally being an offensive-minded/attacking player.

We paid as much for the more talented Alba, now all that remains is to see how he copes both on and off the field. I have some concerns regarding his temperament.

PS: Welcome back
