Cou has already been with us for a year. We're not selling him now but in the summer, if he doesnt improve, I think they'll definitely look to do it. Big money signings with high wages pretty much have to play.

I think they would consider offloading Rakitic, Vidal and Malcom way before they would consider getting rid of Coutinho.

You have to keep in mind that Coutinho is also one of Nike's biggest sponsored footballers.

I don't like to be speculative, but I don't think it's a coincidence that we bought in another big Nike sponsor after we lost Nike's biggest sponsored athlete in Neymar.

He cant be a big commercial value while on the bench. But who knows what will happen. I think its a headache for the management.

How many big money signing for Barcelona were offloaded after just 1 year due to sporting reasons?

Chygrynskiy is the only one in our history that I can think of.

The likelihood of Coutinho being sold is very small.

Chyngrynsky
Ibrahimovic
Maxi Lopez
Quaresma
Ronald De Boer
Mendieta
Petit
Alfonso Perez
Geovanni Deiberson
Dehu
Romario, a fight

All of them stayed a year or a year and a half.

Now with de jong coming this will be interesting. Will his mother and him now go down with their demands or are we dropping him? Maybe we already did because they didnt give us an answer when we gave them an ultimatum. Anyway the pressure here for the board is gone because they got de jong.

I doubt Rabiot will come now. How many fucking midfielders do we need? We need to get rid of Rakitic, Rafinha, Samper, Denis at the least. Personally I would sell Busquets to City. They're on the look out for a DM and Busquets would be a good fit for them.

He still represents an opportunity in the market but with the confirmation of de Jong him being a priority goes way down. And with that so does his bargaining power (with us atleast) as a free agent.

We can afford to lower our offer now or be straight that the position available is only as DMC.

If he comes, great. If not good luck.

What does worry me though is the same way he comes on a free he can leave on a free. Their volatility in negotiations give no guarantee that we would have sell on value.

no chance that he will sign for spurs and i presume he doesn't have high opinion on bayern too, unless other clubs like juve or big 4 from prem league come in with offers he will sign for us

Didn't the board start the negotiations with Ajax for de Jong after getting pissed off with Rabiot's mom?

No, well before. There was already serious interest last spring well before Rabiot became a serious target. If media reports are to be believed.

I would not be surprised if we already have a verbal agreement with Rabiot and being clear favorites to sign him.

I think it would be terrific, in less than 1 year you have a 21, 22 & 23 year old core in midfield between FDJ, Arthur and Rabiot with total transfer fees <115 that can easily be recovered and have their wages covered with squad departures.
