That 'disrespectful ridiculous' offer is going to feel like an incredible opportunity missed after we take him off your hands for free in a few months time.

The key point here is this:-

PSG did not counter, they rejected.

Whatever the offer was, how much do they expect an offer to be for a player with 12 months on his contract?

Not true.

See above.

Rabiot is by no means a bad player. Rather the contrary. Even less so when he can be signed for free other than the obligatory sign-on bonus. I don't really understand the displeasure with this likely signing. Rabiot will turn 24 this April. Should he fail completely at Barça, which I doubt, there will be ample opportunity to sell him to the highest bidder. I completely understand why Abidal and the board are willing to take the risk. Signing Rabiot on a free this summer does not necessarily mean that De Jong or another midfielder will not be signed.

Signing Rabiot will probably mean that a 31 year old and declining Rakitic (who wants another contract extension and another wage increase) will likely be shown the door next summer.

Moreover by next summer a 30 year old and likewise declining Busquets will be a year older as will Vidal who will turn 32 this May. So I don't see why the arrival of Rabiot and another midfielder (say De Jong Or Ndombele) would be such an unrealistic scenario.

I don't know if people saw this (doubtful) here but Busquets gave an interview after the Tottenham game where he openly said that he has 2 or at most 3 seasons left at the highest level. So an exit by 2021 (at the most) is very likely in his case.

As for Rabiot's supposed personality flaws it is something that can be solved and usually is dealt with well at Barça. He will start from a fresh and would likely want to prove the doubters wrong from the start. Him not featuring for France is a great thing as well if you ask me. I have no doubt that a change of scenario, playing in a much, much, much better domestic league on a weekly basis and for a genuine historic giant will do wonders for him.

Having said that I would be against his signing if it means that his likely arrival will block the possible arrival of a new midfielder in the mould of De Jong or Ndombele. If not I see no reason to already complain when Rabiot has yet to play a single minute for the club. To conclude it is a very low-risk deal for a quite talented player who by no means is the finished product yet. At least this is what I believe.

Lastly screwing QSG in the process is an added bonus. Even more so if they get "angry" and decide to waste a large sum of money (say 80 million euros) on Rakitic this upcoming summer. That would be a dream come true. Unlikely to occur though.

PSG and their pride!! 😃

They received an offer. They could have negotiated and got a better offer. Instead they stood their ground and the ensuing mess makes the club look even more stupid. They think in terms of black and white only.

I'm loving the troll job we're doing on them. Even if we don't get him we have made them so angry it's hilarious 😂

I think this is a train wreck happening in slow motion. I like him as a player. But him and his mother have delusions of grandeur. She's fcuking calling the manager, owner, media, the gardener and that homeless guy outside the stadium every time her precious son is benched or when he's played 'out of position'. Those fans who think this is magically gonna change just because he's at Barca is in for a tough awakening. However I can see him being a starter in Rakitic's role tbh, will suit him (and his mother) fine. Under another coach, of course. Valverede will not use him since he's not a work horse and then the carousel-of-crazy will start. Enjoy

First read my messages.

I clearly said, that Nasser were too naive with him, so yes he acts like a 13 yo child.

Normally a club put pressure 2 years before the end of a contract to avoid that kind of case.
Nasser was paternalist with Rabiot. He considered him like a "Titi", a pure product of the club. He never imagined what kind of game Rabiot were playing.

Nasser was too naive, Rabiot absolutely disrespected his training club by pretending that he will signe a new contract, 4 times in a row. That's the problem.

No comparaison possible with Neymar, Neymar is not a massia product, Neymar had a clause. Neymar never pretended that he will stay at Barcelona. Even if i don't like the Neymar behaviour (his personality ...), he was clear.

Several reports suggested that Neymar knew about PSG offer months earlier but he did not inform the club to get the extra fee. He put us in a very poor position even though he did not have to. We could not do anything anyway and he could leave anytime but decided to leave at the end of the window.

However, Rabiot has no release clause; thus it is really the only way.

He will get a reality check and some humility at Barca. As soon as he sees Messi in training he will know his level. We won't give a fuck about his mother either. He either performs or warms the bench. This is Barca not Qsg.

I think it's a far stretch to think that he will get a reality check and some humility just because he goes to barca. In fact, nothing so far in his career suggests that. It's just... why bother? Why gamble on someone with such personality and such baggage? Are there no other alternatives? Surely there is. Money can't be that tight.

Remember all of the baggage Suarez carried when we signed him?!? Oh yeah-right. Rabiots mother is his AGENT. Come on people. She’s trying to maximize his earning potential. Anything any other agent would be trying to do as well. Clearly PSG is a prison. They are a second rate club owned by the state of Qatar and some prince who never had someone not give him what he wanted. I actually applaud Rabiot for not resigning a contract with this shit club because if he does then he is stuck there. Put yourself in his shoes. You are not liking your current job and want to leave. You have a contract that is almost up and the prospect of a new job and new beginning greatly outweigh your current one. If you sign a new contract with your current job you cannot leave for 5 years because your employer sucks. PSG and their fans are acting like entitled babies. You have a second rate club. This is not jail. These people are humans. If they want to leave they can.
