not sure if we can exercise the option in January and cant see it happening,we will probably settle with what we have right now in d efence and then go for a star CB in the summer...

Maybe he wants Botia to gain 1 more year of experience and give Fontas a chance meanwhile. I mean if Pep got him back this season, he couldn't give both Fontas AND Botia enough playing time. Now he can try Fontas and watch Botia @ Sporting at the same time. And get Botia back in case of Fontas failing.
The only problem with this is that Botia has quality and Fontas isn't near his level at all.... If he's not playing Fontas over 2 DMs, pretty sure he's not convinced of his abilities (could change though). I guess Pep wants a Pique situation for Botia.

It is a good option to have and don't be fooled into thinking that because Sporting have been struggling, he has to. In fact, it would provide him invaluable experience.

i really hope we buy him back in January, we need more backup options at CB.

he is a good player, a La Masia product and will only cost us €1.5 million. he deserves a chance and if he fails to deliver i'm sure Sporting will take him back for a similar fee and we can look for another option in the summer.

Barcelona have decided to buy back Sporting centre back Alberto Botia (22) for 2.5M in May. His future depends on next year's coach.

yeees!
anyway, what does it mean it depends on coach? means that guardiola wants him and if he stays he will come or that he doesnt want him and wont come when guardiola is here?
