everyone pray for a growth spurt over the next 10 months!

if he gets big enough, he could feature on the pre-season tour. and if he features on the tour he will star on the tour, and if he stars on the tour...

Grimaldo –youngest B team player in Second Division

Jaume Marcet / Jordi Clos

Alejandro Grimaldo became the youngest ever debutant with Barça B in the second division on Sunday, at 15 years and 349 days, beating the previous youngest player Haruna Babangida. This is Grimaldo’s fourth season at the Club.

The left back became the youngest player to figure for Barça in the second division when he took part in the 0-4 win over Cartegena at the weekend to beat the previous record previously set by Haruna Babangida, who on 22nd November 1998 made his debut at the age of 16 years and 53 days.

Great success last season

Grimaldo signed for Barça’s Infantil A in the summer of 2008. At Valencia, where he played before joining Barça, he featured as a winger, before moving back to the full back position at Barça. After playing for Cadet B in the 09-10 season, he progressed to Cadet A the following season, before moving through Youth B and A teams, where he helped Oscar Garcia’s team take the Champions Cup and the Spanish Cup.

Skilful and strong

Grimaldo is a skilful left back, who is prepared to take risks and although he’s not a big lad, he is a tough defender to get past because of his strength. Grimaldo is also strong mentally –something B team coach Eusebio Sacristán stressed before picking him for the Cartegena game.

I hope he lives up to the expectations unlike Babangida
And if he really is that mentally strong already thats a good sign... but I am for him to stay at Juvenil A for the next 2 seasons and get called up for B team on very few occasions, we should let him evolve his play and not to limit his mostly technical and attacking evolution with playing him at B already

I don't know but Roberto Carlos' 1,66cm didn't stop him from being the best LB of his time ;)
Grimaldo is only 16 (soon) so he's still growing.

Yeah ok, Maldini was better but you get my drift. Still, in that period since he joined Madrid up until WC 2002 Carlos was the best for me.
