Some people will always find something to complain about. If he had said he was going to fight for a starting spot, then people would ridicule him for thinking he can kick Busquets out of the starting 11. The truth is, as long as we're not playing a double-pivot, Song is never going to be a starter. And it's good that he's aware of this. Some players are subs and there's nothing wrong with that.

I'm actually not hating on Song, on the contrary I would like him to succeed both on DM and as CM. But the attitude bugs me, I would be much happier if he said he would fight for a starting spot. And like I said, I almost never hate on any of the Barca player beside Pedro the last 2 seasons and Alba's defensive qualities which are comparable to my younger sisters

well song is a cm,so playing him as a cm is like playing thiago as a dm,arsener played him as a dm the same way he is playing arteta there. The funny thing is that we bought a cm converted to dm and cannot defend and wanted to play him as a cb atleast when bought mascherano he was a dm that could defend. The reason why song at cb was a complete failure was because as a dm he cannot even defend.song transfer was a total failure even getting capoue instead of him or kondogbia for 4m when he was offered to us by alves agent would have been better and playing him as a cb/dm would been better.

But yeh, he shouldn't play instead of Busquets. He should play as a box to box midfielder. That way, you'll get more out of him. And it might benefit the team as well. From time to time. Especially against opponents that require a more defensive midfield formation. I don't think that Iniesta, Xavi and Busquets are gonna cut it against the top teams. It's kinda obvious.

He plays alright, but for a DM he sucks at defending. Playing double pivot would actually not help us defensively at all, we better perfect our pressing.

He's a box-to-box midfielder. He's made for the double pivot. Wenger never used him as a lone DM which is why he's not doing great defending. He'll defend fine under a double pivot though.

He is not a box-box and he will never be.Wenger used him as a lone dm if not who is the second dm,if they have a second dm will they play arteta as a dm now and with arteta as a dm who is the second dm they are using next to arteta.if we want a double pivot a masch-busquet double pivot will be better than busquet-song but a masch-song double pivot will will rival a masch-busquet double pivot because masch will cover both busquet and song weakness.
