I would keep Mascherano because he is good as a CB in games against small teams. In this way , the ones who are first choice for CB can rest for the big games. Also 2 seasons ago he was our 3 best player of the season.[/QUOTE]

you have forgotten mascherano is 3rd choice cb,if he can't play against big team he shouldn't stay because if one of the first choice cb pairing is injured or suspended for big matches he would be the one to take his place.

WTH is with all these numbers changing???!

With Villa and Thiago leaving, Neymar arriving, and Olazabal being promoted, some shirt numbers will most likely change next season. Alves allegedly said he will wear 22 in honor of Abidal, which would probably leave the #2 shirt to Montoya. Pedro will most likely take over Villa's #7, which opens up his #17. Song has to give his #25 to Olazabal, because in Spanish football goalkeepers are only allowed to wear #1, #13 and #25. So he'll probably take Pedro's former #17. Neymar took Thiago's #11. Not that preseason numbers count, but we've already seen some of these in the game against Bayern, I'm guessing some of those will remain such when the season starts.

Some people will always find something to complain about. If he had said he was going to fight for a starting spot, then people would ridicule him for thinking he can kick Busquets out of the starting 11. The truth is, as long as we're not playing a double-pivot, Song is never going to be a starter. And it's good that he's aware of this. Some players are subs and there's nothing wrong with that.
