What will you say if Xavi wasn't creating assists for Messi? It is common knowledge that most people would argue Messi only scores as much as he does because of the sheer quality of Midfileders around him.

If you knew your stats you'd know Xavi doesn't assist Messi that often, not to mention that you'd know that Cesc and Alves both out-assisted Xavi by a few and Iniesta MASSIVELY. Still, would you call Cesc a better player than Xavi or Iniesta? Would anyone in their right mind (except Ketoth (assuming he's just biased))??

Sometimes I read something that just makes me want to... :banghead:

if I look at song's signing as what it is, which is firstly a keita replacement then I think for the right price he is a good buy, even if i don't rate him personally. he will be ask to play a box to box role like keita and help out as dm when needed, he doesn't need to be great at it just good

I don't feel Keita was asked to play box to box at all. If anything he was asked to stay in place when he took the Busquets role.

our last home game was against norwich and we were leading 3-2 and last few minutes song made a stupid mistake. wenger lost it with him in the dressing room. after that he didnt join in the traditional lap of honour after last home game of the season.....make that what you want of it

If you are leading 3-2 (HOME) against Norwich in the last minutes of game, Song isn't your only problem.

As far as I know, 15 mil was Barcelona's initial offer.

Actually, what I read from multiple sources was that the initial offer was around 11-12 million pounds, to which Wenger had replied he is under no
circumstances going to sell Song for under 15 million (his list price). Papers claimed Arsenal had valued Song at 15 million at the beginning of the transfer window.
But as you said... it's kind of hard to say when to trust the papers.

If you knew how to comprehend, you would know that I never mentioned Xavi was the only one assisting Messi. . . I can tell reading isn't a problem, however comprehending isn't your strongest point.

Hint: the sheer quality of Midfileders around him.

why don't people never mention alves but only the midfielders. dani gave 3 times more assists to leo than xavi last year. he is just as vital as the midfielders. in argentina he don't have those players but he has some crazy quality up front when he plays with kun and higuain. but back to the topic - what the hell has song exactly to offer to barcelona anyway??? if barca is really willing to pay for him 20m (or 25 which arsenal are asking) it would be crazy.

wenger was just asked will song be sold and are you after sahin. he just said both could happen and had a smile. looks like this one will happen the moment Mourinho stop acting like a d!ck. Sahin wants to join us and he made it clear he wants him to go to liverpool. he knows the moment we get sahin we will sell song to you and he doesnt want to help you lot out. Anyway im really hoping we get sahin and he can show what a classy player he is

Finally someone who knows what he is talking about. I remember that game vividly, Simeon Jackson and Weley Hoolahan where finding holes in your DEFENCE, almost made Arsenals defence look like Swiss Cheese.

HEY, ANYONE REMEMBER FRANK LAMPARD ROBBING MESSI OF THE BALL IN OUR CL CLASH, WHICH AUTOMATICALLY LED TO A GOAL? WHY DIDN'T WE CRUCIFY HIM THEN?

I actually made an omission of him. . . I was about to mention that most times when he does assist, he plays more like a midfielder than a right back.

"What will you say if Xavi wasn't creating assists for Messi?"

My answer was that he basically wasn't... and he's still one of our best players. He'd still be better than Keita even if Keita managed an assist more, for instance.

Both quotes are yours. . . . And this was the question I asked : "What will you say if Xavi wasn't creating assists for Messi?"

The fact remains every now and then, Xavi assists Messi and other team mates, no matter how less often it may occur.

Yes, and it wouldn't matter much if he didn't at all... It's not all about the number of assists, even if they're definitely a plus

Btw, you forgot to highlight the "basically"
