:worthy: what a player

why was he sold ,again?
He was sold because he was wayyyyyy too good for the bench. Everyone knew that Yaya is better than Busquets individually in everything except one-touch passing, but the latter fit hand-in-glove as our lone DM. Yaya isn't really a destroyer anyway.

Busquet also plays with more bite than Yaya, even if he lacks his strength. Yaya, with a few exceptions, was a clean player - perhaps too clean.

It seems like from the time it was apparent Silva wasn't an option, Tito has been targetings a guy who could fill in at CDM and CB, was a very good passer, and physically strong. The main objective was Javi Martinez, which would've been great, but Athletic put a rediculous price tag on him, so that was a no go. So they moved to Song. IMO, it's a bit of a reach, but Song is alot more talented than Keita, but with half the brain and less pace. It's either gonna end up being a terrible signing or a great one. He's just a squad player though, so the expectations shouldn't be too high. What I do know is that to have wanted this move, he must have known he was coming in to play a role, so I have to believe that he's going to put in the time to learn his role and perform his duties.

Yaya is also not a defensive midfielder. We conceded 35 goals in La Liga with him in 2008 / 2009. With Busquets we conceded 21 in 2010 / 2011. Despite Puyol missing half of the season and Abidal suffering from a tumour and also missing a third of the season. Put Busquets in a double pivot system like Spain and you will concede 1 goal every 10 games. That's how immense he is. If Real Madrid had him instead of the donkey Khedira, they would shit on us so much.

Why is Alex Song's topic bombarded with Busquets vs. Toure posts? There shouldn't be any comparison between them. Busquets is bossing Barca's midfield with his brain, his positioning, intuition and clean passing. Just because Yaya appears to be playing a "more attractive" game doesn't make him better player.

Busquets' awesomeness was radiating all over the place. So Yaya decided that he wants to play alongside his brother. His brother being named £££. And he's got 200,000 of them. Every week.

You sound pathetic and broke. . . Btw, it was favouritism not awesomeness at the time. Busi wasn't always this good.

Sahin to Arsenal?

Arsenal will really fight for the title this season.

Not that I disagree entirely with you, but didn't you write somewhere (correct me if I'm wrong) that players take a long time - often as much as a season or so - adapting to the PL? Combined with the fact that Sahin has barely played competetive football for a year now, it doesn't sound to me like a player that'll send a team straight to the top of the PL.
