Álex Valle (loaned to Como)

Reckon 6m would be a good fee to be honest.

So far Valle has lost his first 11 position 3 times he has stepped up. Celtic and twice in LaLiga2.

But Como and Italy is probably the best move possible for him.

Ya. I meant it's far too low.
We can easily lose him to como.

This is from my post on the first page in this thread.

And in his contract, which ends in 2025, there is a clause that dictates that Barça can renew him automatically, increasing his termination clause to 30 million and with an increase in the player's salary, which would become more than one million euros. The problem is that if the Barça club does not activate this clause, on August 1 the player would have a contract with a salary from the reserve team but his termination clause would drop from 8 to 3 million euros, a real danger given that he could even leave for the half the price for which Marc Guiu left for Chelsea.

Not sure how reliable these reports from last summer were but I guess we couldn't promote him to the first team at that time (or had other priorities like Olmo and Nico, lol).

Or maybe Flick prefered Gerard over him for whatever reason despite Valle showing some good stuff in preseason. Or he wanted to leave to play regularly (can't blame him for that) but he made a mistake going to Celtic. AFAIK reports said club let him choose where he wants to go amongst several offers. Would probably play more at Betis who were also after him IIRC.

At least we did some damage control and renewed his contract (not sure how much his salary has increased) end of August before going on loan and doubled his clause.

Tbf he'll turn 21 in few months and as @Porque said has failed to establish himself in his third loan spell by now. I like him but it's fair to doubt he has first team future here and so would be hard to convince him/his agent to sign a contract with higher clause. Those are usually correlated to player's salary. Not many players with good agents will accept relatively low wages with relatively high clauses (both compared to players of similar status).

Also, he could still decide to stay even if Como (or another club) would be willing to pay his clause in summer but Barca promise him to challenge for LB spot. Not sure Flick fancy him all that much though and we could also risk losing on 6m if he were to stay and then not play much.

So I think his clause is good for his current level. Ofc he can turn into a world beater in 5 months under Cesc and become a steal for Como and possibly be sold for 15-20m in a year or two. So would be nice to have percentage of future sale but those won't help us much in current time when we need money the most. When we're back to Camp Nou and money will start to flow to the club don't think we'll be too desperate for potentially missing out on a few millions.

Player had quite a say in his terms, especially after he was never even played as a LB under Flick

He’s the most promising LB since Balde & Grimaldo before him but so far lacked any stand out performances to distinguish himself

I think he has incredible touch and precision in passing with sufficient physical attributes. Defensively he hasn’t been tested much, especially at Celtic

I didn’t see him at Levante but he was a catalyst every time he played at Celtic. He has something but whether it’s enough to rotate with Balde is unclear

Personally I have the suspicion the player wants to play more than anything else in terms of his career, preferably at Barça but wants flexibility to exit rather than be bench fodder

With that €6M clause noted in the new loan when it wasn’t there previously suggests it’s on the player side - I think he’ll exit at that price, for good or bad

Cucurella and Miranda were both more promising than Valle, that's 4 more promising LB we have produced in less than a decade. And being the next best thing since Balde isn't that big of an achievement considering he is just 6 months younger.

If we get 6M for him, it's a great deal for us. I said it before, but I prefer a more experienced option for rotation. Having a guy like him competing for sporadic minutes won't help us or him.

The renewal of Martin, and putting trust in him in first team over Alex, says the ship has sailed for the guy, cashing on him is our best option.

11m for him and Unai is outstanding work. Neither are any better than playing for perennial La Liga relegation fodder.

Save that money for Ming the Merciless from Celta. But I fear we will now go and spoil it all and use that money to loan Rashford or Doku.

We really fucked up with Grimaldo and Cucurella. We could have had covered LB with one of them in their prime years and Balde for rotation. All La Masia, all free of transfer fees.
