So.. If the reports from Germany are correct, we almost got Hleb back few weeks as they weren't satisfied with him.
And I thought he was going to flourish in his Stuttgart.

Soooooooo ... He can't make it at Barca, he can't make it at Stuttgart, too. Where the hell he could play next season? Le Mans?

He'll probably ring the bell @ Wenger's home door, carrying a bucket of red roses in his hand and begging him to take him back in Arsenal. :friends:

But for Alexander's bad luck, Wenger never brings back the ones, who chose to leave him.

I bet he feels a right tool for leaving Arsenal. How long is left on his Barca contract?

I remained one of the hopeful that Hleb would regain his form with Barca...His contract was for 4 years (2012)...If the next Presidency is smart, they'll dump Hleb for whatever they can...He's an aging midfielder at 29 and if there's any desire to recoup some of that €17 million, they better act sooner than later

Hleb sucks, why is this so hard for people to accept? It's not like he's young and needs time to adapt, he's always been a luxury player who adds little substance to a team.

He wasn't the first Arsenal system player to be found out, and won't be the last. I'm willing to forgive Pep for this one if Chyga works out and we don't get Robinho, that's for sure.

Arsenal fans actually rated him pretty highly, judging from my observations. They were criticizing him just about his terrible lack of goals, though. But how I've said many times to my Arsenal buddies - there is different standard between them and Barca. What's decent in Arsenal, it would be bad in Barca. And what is great in Arsenal, it would be probably just decent here.

Hleb wasn't a Pep signing, he had barely any input into who came in during that summer.

I've read at some places, that Hleb was actually the only player who Pep wanted personally in the summer of 2008. But I can't know if it's true or not, I wasn't there :)

This debate has seen many iterations but I still subscribe to the one where he simply didn't get enough playing time much less chances...Although, I also think he was moved around so much that he never had a position to play for...Of course, his lack of form for Stuttgart does appear to fuel the opposing theory that he simply has 'lost it'.

I haven't watched him in the Bundesliga but I do wonder whether a lack of confidence from his time at Barca has played into his poor form in Germany

Hleb isn't a bad player, he was impressive in Germany and then in England. His finishing is a joke, and he was never Barca quality, but he wasn't shit before he came to the Camp Nou.
