Alexander Isak

Am I one of the only ones here who doesn't rate him that high? Decent player but not world class level.

I'd rather take a chance on Vik Gyok, who can become world class. Just has more strings to his bow than Isak, and is a much more cheaper deal in wages and transfer fee.

Gyok is clearly quicker, stronger, better in the air, better hold up play, better shooting from range, better dribbler, better free kicks, better shot power.

Can't think of one thing Isak is CLEARLY better than Vik.

Go Get Gyok.

Gyok does not have better control or hold up play. WTF are you talking about?
Isaak is perhaps the best CF out there right now in terms of technique, control, and link-up away from the box.

Gyok is good, but is again a case where you have a huge questionmark what he can do in very tight spaces and against parked buses, and what he can do away from the box when required to link up and release others.

You sure you weren't blindfolded when you watched Gyokeres play?

Isak is clearly quicker, a better dribbler and got better hold up play than Gyokeres.

No he isn't. Their top speeds are almost identical. In terms of acceleration, Gyok seems to have the edge, but this is subjective

Isak is the CLEANER dribbler, that I agree on, it's just that Gyok uses his strength to bundle his way through Suarez style which is why he has more SUCCESSFUL dribbles per 90 than Isak.

In regards to hold up play, Isak has better control, but is far far weaker than Gyok, which is why he is dispossessed more often than Gyok.

Gyok is far far better at pressing and was the leading striker in the whole of Europe for possession won in the final third last season.

Gyok crushes Isak statistically. Whilst I agree that Isak plays against stronger opponents, I personally don't place as much value in the " But he's doing it in the EPL " mantra as others do.

Gyokeres goal tally would be halved at best in the PL or La Liga.

There’s too many examples of the Portugese Liga heavily inflating strikers stats. He was at Coventry in the Championship a couple years back and whilst promising at times, hardly scored bundles of goals.

Gyökeres is decent, but it is always risky to get late bloomers in lower league. Isak is even younger than him and have been in top 2 leagues for his 6th season now while Gyökeres has non.
If you have a chance on either, you go for Isak. But I will be happy if we get Gyökeres nevertheless.

Completely disagree, as alluded to earlier. Gyok didn't have much of a problem with the champions of the PL.

He will make the move this summer, and is most closely linked with Arsenal. If that move happens, I am convinced he will outscore Isak next season.

Let's see what happens.

Isak is a more sure fire bet and a year younger.

When was the last time a striker from Portugal transfer his form to a big league?, I'm genuinely curious.

Isak is a surefire bet. Proven.

Gyokeres is far more exciting. Way way cheaper. But yes, bet of higher odds than Isak.
Looking at Lewa, both are a huge upgrades. We need a player that finishes tapins, has a good enough hold up play, is ok with ball at their feet, doesnt kill transition, and has the lungs to press/run around.

If we are looking to sign in summer 2025, I dont think we can afford more than 70mil player. If its 2026, then probably it will be Isak or Halaand.
Im for Gyokeres, but dont mind Isak. Would probably be more releaved if we go for Isak than Halaand.

All 3 will be VERY expensive. Anyway, Lewa has a fucking contract next season also - we won't move for a 100M signing in the summer while also paying Lewa 30M and Fraudie 25M... pls no more Olmo v 2.0.

Ya we dont have any money. Silver lining is we are 1:1. If we just strengthen with backups that would be great.
I have lost all title ambitions in 2026, if we keep Lewa as our undisputed starter. But time will tell.
