Newcastle winning a trophy. Possibly going to make the CL with England getting 5 CL places.

Might stay another year after all.

Well, there's another aspect - he could see this as Newcastle's top of the arc for himself. They are far from EPL contenders and CL is just for reputation.

But it isn't his decision to make. Newcastle can still pressure him to stay and ask for king's ransom than no one will be willing to pay.

He can pressure the club for a transfer via the agent. Newcastle are not PSG level of hostage players level.

I don't think that 150m thing is realistic.
The days of teams making such absurd offers are gone. Although I can see Newcastle squeezing 120m for him if he want to leave.
I'm not sure if we can fit that in FFP-wise and it reaches a point where you'll have to ask if we should do it.

I think the one thing in our favour would be that Newcastle would surely prefer selling him abroad rather than to Arsenal/Liverpool. Won't mean we'll get a massive discount, but maybe some of the money they want can be turned into performance related add-ons instead.

For Premier League teams they will surely ask for everything. Especially with their ambitions of CL football. Won't strengthen one of the CL teams.

I'm nowhere near the idea Barca can afford him. But he's definitely above the Europa League quality player. That's why some crazies of Liverpool/Chelsea/Real Madrids think he's their next player this summer.

Barca might afford him after 2026 when things balance out.

Sure, but plenty of clubs told players to wait another year and got what they want. With CL football that is much easier to do. With the new system, they will be almost granted 10 CL games, worth it for a player to wait a year.

I think it could be like Suarez and Liverpool, they promised him a move if he waited, with the idea that better offers will come from abroad.

In 2026, Barca, RM (if they sell Vini) and Bayern (if someone activate Kane's RC) might be looking for big splash for a striker. It will be better than negotiating for months with Arsenal and Liverpool.
