Alexis Sanchez

Alves attacking might have something to do with the forwards' troubles in getting involved. Pedro routinely played on the left when he was super-effective couple of seasons ago where he could attack more. Only Messi can effectively combine with Alves (besides Xavi ofc). Getting our Xavi-Messi-Alves spine back on the right is a huge step towards our 2010/11 form.

btw no forward has to "cover" for Alves. It should be the opposite defender who stays home or Busquets who drops back to form a back 3.

This only works in theory. In reality, when the shit hits the fan on the right flank, someone needs to be on the right to take care of it. You can't have your right winger, right fullback and right midfielder all attacking. This is why Xavi and Pedro are effective at neutralizing Alves' attacking habits.

Chilean striker Mauricio Pinilla wants Alexis Sanchez to prove he is a "great player", as he said, in the field and not into a microphone

"We know that Alexis is a great player. But I think more than talking, he has to prove it on the pitch," said striker daily El Mercurio, when asked about the statements in which Alexis Sanchez defined himself as a "great player".

He has the qualities and conditions and is a major player globally and in the selection he's key's. It's best to let him work in peace and help in difficult times. He is one of those players who needs support and esteem of all people to perform better"

It worked for 3 years with outstanding results.

Seriously positive first half. Full of confidence and will to take on defenders and shoot from the edge of the area. Keep it up!

Did we see the same match? He should have scored two goals. He's a great winger but not a striker. I like the guy tho. I think he fits into Barca playing style but the lack of his finish touch is waaay worst then I thought it would be. I dont see him here next season.

Excellent game. Taking shots, taking on defenders, track back, caused the penalty with his quickness. Maybe he's better on the left than of the right.
