Reus would be an improvement over him. As fcbdna said, just find a sugar-daddy to pay some crazy amount.

everywhere I'm reading that Barca needs or wants several players and that they also desperately want to get rid of al lot of guys.
if you publicly tell the world that you want to get rid of player xyz then it's stupid to expect that other clubs will offer much money

Confidence, mostly. Alexis looks like a tenderfoot every time and it's suprising as he has played so many games already on every level possible.
Reus is just a better quality player in my eyes. Much better at finishing and finding space for troughballs.

Well, if we are going to sell Alexis, we better find that drunk club or at least send them some wine to help them... As I said, this goes beyond your opinion of the player, we need to make intelligent business and that means getting the most out of the players who'll leave... 30- 40 million for Alexis in not unrealistic at all...
False, it has actually been used only once and that was during Tito's season... In his first season the excuse was he was new (which is mostly valid), in his second season he had no excuse and this season he wasn't bad at all, so I don't know what you are talking about...

Call me when Di Maria scores 21 goals and golazos like Alexis' this season in important games. Di Maria is shit at finishing, really really shit, and they are also diferent players. Di Maria is CM/RM/LM and his playing style is dribbling and crossing. That's all he does at Madrid, crossing and dribbling. He's also poor on defence and he is good at Madrid because he crosses non-stop for Ronaldo and Benzema. That's why he's never been that good for Argentina, there are Messi, Aguero and Higuain is not that good in air.
Di maria is quite capable at what he does, and one of the more hard working players for Arg. His importance for the NT cannot be stated enough. Your post reeks of ignorance.

It will be a new low for this clubs transfer dealings if we actually sell Alexis for anything less than what we paid. Is there any other club in world football that buys a player and then sells him for lower than what they paid even though he has become a better player?

It is becoming slightly painful to sometimes read this forum.
Too many users are extremely not objective and are extremely overrating all of our players.
Most of our fans here think that:
-- all of our players are the best in the world and better than all other players
-- Alexis is worth at least 40-50
-- Bartra is the next big thing, he will be worth 30M in the future
-- Montoya is the next big thing, he will be worth as Dani Alves, surely
-- Ie is the next big thing, he will be worth 30-40M in the future
-- Adama is the next big thing, he will be worth 30-40M in the future, we just need to play him and that's it. Just like on Football manager, where not a single player EVER has flopped if he had skills and if you played/developed him
Reality is much different than that.
Our team is horrible in the last 2 Seasons, compared to our standards in the last 10 Seasons.
A lot of our players are very overrated, and overpaid and they don't worth nearly as much as our fans think.
And bids of 18 or 20 M for Alves only prove that.
Also, you are expecting too much from La Masia players. 1 out of 10 will turn into something.
Into something, not into a new Messi or Busi. Just "into something".
It could be into a Sergi Roberto or Montoya.
I don't want to offend anyone, but too often it feels like comments are from 15 year olds who still believe too much "in overhyped young players" and similar.
And who haven't read these stupid stories for the last 10-15-20 years, and who have never been dissapointed when it turns out in the future that 80% of talents don't turn into anything.
Again, you are living in a dreamland if you think that anyone will ever pay more than 25M for Alexis. (or even more than 22M).

Why have we paid that much? Because we are idiots at most of the times and we always overpay players.
