Alexis Sanchez

You didn't ask me for a replacement. I would replace him with a number 9 who wouldn't be expected to dribble often. Our RB can provide width on that side.

Sanchez was amazing at the World Cup, i'd love to see that player play week in week out at club level :beer2:

I know, man. My point is, there aren't a whole lot of players out there who's able to dribble against parked busses, making that criticism rather harsh in my book.

Fair enough, but at Barca that's what is being asked of him. Out tactics often isolate him out on the wing. My preference is to replace the right winger with a number 9, Alves spends most of his time going forward anyway.

Sanchez mind you could possibly be that player, I think he played that position under Pepe, possibly in the 3-1 win at Madrid? I don't remember exactly to be honest.

I see a lot of people pay tribute to Alexis to the skies without checking on Alexis in the game. Alexis scored 2 goals more than Pedro last season in Barcelona but still someone get's all tributes while the other should be hanged as soon as possible. Two goals. There is and has always been a kind of romance between fans and players who run a lot and sacrifice themselves. I agree, I love it too. BUT.

I ask you in here, how good was Alexis Sanchez against Brazil? I will probably quickly get simple answers,'' he was just fine'','' he carries his team on his shoulders.'' I get this reply as Alexis Sanchez joined the scoresheet and most're looking for it, otherwise Cristiano Ronaldo never ever anywhere for one second could be compared to Lionel Messi, but that's another discussion.

What makes me surprised is that almost NOBODY in here writing about how many times Alexis Sanchez stepped on the ball. How many times did he exaggerated things and how many wrong decisions he took. No one. That's right, keeper says otherwise. There were very many counterattacking opportunities for Chile and every time the ball came to Alexis's feet so stopped the game up. I'm not a Chilean, but I'm personally pissed off every time Alexis makes mistakes, because it's so simple mistakes. I sat next to two Chileans and those 2 were crazy and wanted to tear off their hair. I ADVISE all here to re-check on the Brazil-Chile match and JUST studying Alexis Sanchez games WITH ball. Without the ball he's fantastic. I put up the link so you can download. Glad that it's the summer holidays / vacation, then you can really take and study for once.

I don't like Alexis as a 9 for Barca. Everything that makes him struggle as a wide forward for Barca, would only be worse as a 9. For me he should be used deeper on the wing to allow him: to get on the ball quicker; with more space; with less defenders around him; so he can exploit his work rate; his pace; his energy; his creativity; and make quick and sudden runs into the box from deep to create confusion.

I like Alexis (and I was rooting for Chile to win), but people do go overboard.

he,he who is exaggerating, every time he gets the ball? really? I would say without him Chile didnt have much of a goalscoring threat at all in this tournament. Against Spain, who took the ball and created the oppurtunity for the first goal- Sanchez, Who took the freekick that lead to the second goal-Sanchez, who Scored their first goal -Sanchez, Who scored their last goal-Sanchez, who nearly got them through with pass to they guy that hit the bar with 1,5 minute left-Oh Sanchez, Who have completed the most successfull dribbles in this tournament- well that got to be Ronaldo? eh ok Messi then? - Sanchez. Your not honest in your valuation of the player. Ok you dont like him and prefer someone else , fine, your entitled.

Those dribbled stats are useless. Always sensed it but the fact that Sanchez tops the lists confirms it now. No one who uses his own eyes can convince me that Sanchez has been a more effective dribbler than Robben in this tournament. Whoscored must be counting his multiple 360 turns, twists and direction changes on the spot where he buys himself a few yards of space before passing on the ball as dribbles the same way they count Robben running at high speed with the ball glued to his feet past defenders and into the box before firing a dangerous shot as dribbles. Which obviously isn't the same quality of dribble. So, laugh, smile or cry - 1 dribble ain't 1 dribble and the statistic is a lie.

Good one that. Messi has a cray stat - everyone goes :worthy: Messi. Alexis has a crazy stat, and the stat is a lie. Nice fairness... Ursegor, really.

lel at people  Dribble is a dribble when it allows you to knock the ball past opponent and create space. There are just different styles. Messi/Hazard/Robben have the same style, whereas players like Neymar/Taarabt/Robinho/Ronaldinho use tricks to create this space. Bale/Valencia/Walcott use their pace.

Haha, i choose to laugh, this getting more ridicoulous by the hour, so that stat only counts for the players YOU actually like? that is everyone but Sanchez ;), Dat Objectivity..
