So does this mean, They dont want Villa anymore or Villa wants to stay here forever?

Villa will be gone next summer (and you can quote me on that). He's clearly unhappy (shame on you if you're a Villa fan, and you can't see that :p) not because of what allegedly transpired between messi and him, but because of the playing time. He's missed a large chunk of this year, and not only does he want to make up for it, but he also knows he's heading in to a phase with what him being 31 where he may not 've many elite years left in him, and he'd want to maximize it to the best he can. At Barca there will always be rotation, and even more so considering there is much competition at his position. Now factor his contract status (expires 2014), Barca would rather recoup some of his current value than lose him for nothing the subsequent summer.

His contract end in 2015, Not 2014

may i ask you where he will go??

He's won it all in LL. There are few top clubs(outside spain) needing of an elite striker, either as a stopgap, or to take them to the next level. Villa's footballing expertise, and transfer fee makes him all the more appealing to the market.

Is fifth not optional? My source is transfermarkt. Could be wrong, but an additional year doesn't change things much from villa's perspective.

villa is the best finisher in world football after messi. why let him go to keep the likes of alexis?

Because if we keep a true striker that has goal it's bad bussiness for Barca because we may actually win against a chelsea like team (parked bus) which would turn into winning a CL trophy.

facts

A) Barca gets a lot money for every match played in the Champions League, and if you reach the semi final, or final, that's quite a lotttttt money for Barca.

B) More matches also mean more people is able to watch Messi score goals, and goals for Messi is translated in personal records and ballon d'ors, and for Barca that's translated into getting more fans because of Messi's awesomeness, and fans buy more crap from Barca, aka Messi t-shirts, and that's translated into an awesome amount of money for Barca.

C) However, if you win the champions, most players like Messi have signed a contract that comes with some gay clause that makes them win millions of €_€ for getting a title like the champions or liga leaving Barca ass-fcked, nearly in bankrupt. If you keep Villa, you will win titles, which is bad bussiness for Barca. If you keep Alexis, in other hand, that ensures you don't win anything, and you don't have pay players millions in rewards for titles, and Barca can save quite a lot of €_€.

Even tho I'm just kidding here and making fun of Alexis, and perhaps may have exagerated one or two things, pretty much everything I've said is true. That's why, financially, last year it was the best one for Barca, yet we only won a single title aka "copa del rey". That wouldn't have happened if everything I said earlier isn't true.

On topic: wouldn't mind if Alexis gets to start next game over Villa, as he's doing pretty good lately. Let's see if he can finally score!

He got hit in the ankle region, I hope it's not very serious. After the injury he stayed on field and limped around before he got substituted.
