Was a lot better today. I think he'll always look ponderous though, not so much because he's slow physically as mentally. There's some talent there for sure (exactly how much is the real questiion), but he needs to be much more decisive, much quicker at deciding what he's going to do with the ball, even before he's got it.

His finishing still sucks. If he could improve on it, he could be useful. He gets quite many chances, but because of poor finishing doesn't have that many goals.

I have noticed that ALL of his long range shots end high high over the crossbarr. I don't get what he does on training if he can't change that. He skyrockets the shots.

Andre Gomes lives by the motto ''Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.''. The problem is he took it quite literally and that is why all his shots go way over the bar.

Thinking about this, it is very true. Had he scored most of the chances he got (specially in important games) he would have been considered a solid player for us actually. Shows what a difference goal scoring can do

He was playing a bit like 14/15 Valencia, Gomes yesterday. one of the reasons why so many teams wanted him.

Valverde is utilizing him better this season. Last season he was playing more but despite Lucho's strong faith in him it clearly hurt him a lot, confidence wise and he looked so out of place as well and we all seen the result of it.

He's playing much better this season and it remains to be seen if he can truly make it here however.

Not really. He was quite bad the entire season. Not a bit better than last season, at important games even worse.
He was just BETTER yesterday. Good but that's just a single game...

He has clearly been better this season.

Looks stronger on the ball and more confident.

Would still sell him. I think we have little to gain even he if he starts getting better. Could target other midfielders who may fit better.

I'm actually not sure if he will be sold because EV seems to rate him pretty highly.

He's definitely been better this season but I think the only thing that could salvage his career here is if he has a Roberto like resurgence. And I can't see him doing that.

He has been more confident this season and it shows in games. Yes his finishing is horrible, but his movement has improved a lot and he seems much more in tune with rest of squad.
