Had a pretty good game, which is his story so far this season. Good games mostly, but nothing extraordinary. Basically a good squad player for us.

Just a thought: he can't play midfielder in 433. It's easier to play in 442 when you have best forwards in Messi and Suarez (they do a lot of playmaking) and Busi Raki to control and defend for you. Especially vs mediocre teams. Basically he's used to give Iniesta some rest.

Credit where credit is due though. No one imagined last season that he would become a 'a good squad player for us' at one point. Maybe we can dream a little bigger....who knows lol.

He looks like he could be a good player at lesser club that gives him the freedom to move and covers for him.

Far better on the ball this season than last and can see a player in there even if doesnt really look suited to what Barca need.

Good game for Gomes, but he cannot get away from being the poorest on the pitch tonight. The fact we scored tons of goals after he was subbed off hints at that. Messi and Suarez clearly sabotage him, ignoring his presence inside the box, that's more than clear to everyone.

He did well today but still not a very meaningful impact or role in the midfield. There's no output that he consistently produces whether it be creativity or good defense or tempo setting, it's just a random hodgepodge of actions that may or may not come off in random areas of the pitch.

He gets praised for things that no other player would ever even get looked at twice for, completely simple passes that it would be EXTREMELY worrying if a pro footballer couldn't execute. All the 'good' things he did today or in any of his (relatively few) good games are things that the likes of even Rakitic do several times a match and get completely unnoticed for. Even in Raki's worst matches he'll still do a lot of things like this right and no one cares at all, for good reason because it's just basic actions. The ability to exist on a football pitch without sticking out like a sore thumb is not a skill.

Dont think he was.

He played better than likes of Semedo and Alba for me and even Busi/Messi in first half.

Naah. The poorest on the pitch was Deulolfeu, by far. The whole team was flying at that point and he continued to fuck things up.

He's not a role or specialist player. Not a scorer, not a controller, not a passer, not even a great box to box option. But he is a player that will get the job done tactically, and this season he is very good physically, master of none, but can do a lot of things to a good enough level for a dependable squad player. Hard to beat, aggressive, uses his body well unlike in the past, and has some skills that can be of use on the counter.

Some Barca fans(most Barca fans) are so easy. So so easy

So easy to be impressed, as well as so easy to write off WC players.

Gomes was garbage today yet again, it delou or Vidal had a game like he did people would be saying how poor they were, the bar is so low with him that a few decent passes that a overweight 40 year old could do, gets him credit.

Despite playing more he as been do better than a Gerard this season as an example but some say he was good.
