In fairness he's not a left mid and he holds people off well, but no, that's about it. He looks more confident these days too so that can't be an excuse anymore. Doesn't offer enough. If we get a decent offer, sell sell sell.

I'm sorry but he was still easily the worst Barca player on the pitch quite comfortably. We really should offload him to the EPL for 40-50m.

He wasnt.
Played well on the ball in the first half and was positive on it.
Was one of the better players in first half.

suarez told him to stop fighting with the ref, he was already getting the yellow and didnt want gomes to argue for his red.

Gomes was putting crazy effort today. He was very into the game. Good game..

Tonight I took notes on Gomes performance, while the ball was out of play:
2' - good pressuring in opposition half
4' - bad attempt on doing the Marseille roulette, trips over
5' - bad tackling, no card
8' - unsuccesful tackling Barca half
8' - attempted dribble, almost tripped over
11' - good pass and movement in the middle of the pitch
15' - good pass to Jordi Alba, nothing comes out of it
20' - good first touch, but then elbows his opponent and receives yellow card
23' - good first touch
25' - great long pass into space to Suarez, nothing comes out of it
27' - Gomes is instructed by Valverde while game is stopped
31' - lost possesion of the ball
32' - long vertical pass to Semedo
34' - a promising attack ends after Gomes makes bad pass
35' - another attack ends after Gomes fouls Betis player inside the box
41' - Gomes tackles Busquets going for the ball, Busi argues with the referee demanding a foul
44' - good movement inside the box for Messi's through pass, but goalkeeper Adan rushes out to collect the ball
45' - good attacking movement
Second half:
49' - WTF!?
57 - Semedo pass inside the box, but Gomes moves forward
58 - pass to Suarez, who's next move is to assist Rakitic
60 - poor transition to defence
63 - lazy movement to get the ball, a moment later he is caught in offside
