We need to see how strong is he mentally for Barca.

His technique will be probably fine over time.

He's probably rusty so it's way too early for criticize him.

After all, Gomes played only 30 minutes in his first Barca game.

Some touches/passes were off and he always looked to his nearest player. He seems pretty balanced on the ball but we'll have to see if he has the technique to be a Barca player. Hopefully he'll learn the way Rakitic did. I didn't like his energy or defensive workrate though, not much running off the ball to get into positions or pressure opponents. Probably due to fitness though.

It's very important at Barca to receive with a man on your back, close to you, and still pass it forward. He received under pressure a couple of times and didn't pass the ball back from where it came from, but instead took a soft first touch and developed the game. That's what I want to see more of.
