André Gomes

And nothing changed. He played a victim for a while, but footballing-wise it was the same stinking shit. Our fans just looked like Madridiots, who boo every RM player at least once in their carrer.

The board needs to swallow the fact that buying Gomes was 30 million Euros flushed down the toilet and sell him ASAP. No booing will solve this matter.

How do you sell an injured player?

Give him away. I don't care. I just want him gone. And I have a feeling in my gut that Valverde will play him again in a CL playoff.

"Give him away" lol.

The injury factor is a negative but i believe we can loan him out to Valência. A transfer is now "impossible" due to 2 months injury.
The other option is to sell him in January.

Yeah I agree, just saying he got booed.

He needs to be loaned to Valência. i never liked him, but he is not as bad as it seems. At Valência he presented at a decent level, the problem is that he never adapted to Barcelona and mentally he entered a defeatist spiral. He will never get over it playing here. I hope he goes to valência on loan, recovers his confidence and his level to be sold in the end of the season.

This injury was honestly not that unexpected. Gomes is a gym rat and thats probably the main thing he focuses on as a football player. In the Barca emojis thing every single player gave him the flex emoji because he's the strongest one on the team in terms of lifting and spends all his time in the gym.

And I'm thinking that's really all he does. Doesn't seem to make any improvements technically or tactically. Being in the gym all the time means that he's not even that athletic, just bulkier.

If all you do is weightlifting then intense athletic exercise is bound to get you injured. It makes you less flexible and gives you primarily short twitch fibers and higher lactic acid and limits mobility as well as being heavy on the joints. That's why athletes in most high endurance sports (NBA and tennis too) mostly do workouts that incorporate athleticism and cardio. Their muscle mass is built for endurance and high intensity exercise, not just bulk and physique.

Bale was too swole back in the days when he would always get injured, but at least he was an athletic beast too. Same can be said about Nadal. Gomes is not, just has muscles (which makes him a great player in BBZ's eyes I suppose). It makes him even more bulky/slow and, no surprise, he got injured.

Maybe if he actually focused on his football he'd be in a better place in his career right now. It's way too late for him at Barca, but he still has years ahead of him to get on a better path.

Don't put him in the CL squad. That should make him push for an exit in January

We won't gain anything from that, especially with new rules (players can now play in CL with new team even if they played with another team before winter window IIRC)

Guess we'll need to loan him out now.

Doubt it, teams who would want him on loan would prefer to do it in Jan over August,

Going to be difficult to give Valverde a max squad of 23 players then with another midfielder yet to come(one EV has publicly said he wants).

GK: MATS, Jasper/new GK (2)
Defenders: Semedo, Roberto, Pique, Umtiti, Lenglet, Vermaelen, Alba, Cucu/Miranda (8)
Midfielders: Busquets, Rakitic, Coutinho, Arthur, Alena, new CM, Gomes (7)
Forwards: Messi, Suarez, Dembele, Malcom, Rafinha/Denis*, Munir/Paco (6)

*I think we should keep only one of them but if we get good offers sell both.

A total of 23 players.

That's a lot of conjecture. By that logic, Gomes should be an injury-prone player. However, he's not.

I'm sure part of his day to day training includes stamina and cardiovascular training. There are I'm sure people who understand more then you or me about how to train football players in barca that work with Gomes..
