André Gomes

He's 22...so I think the first season as loan to Valencia isn't relevant at all.

Goals against Rma, Atm and Getafe are his top 3, check the Sport article.

Anyone else think the fact Madrid let him go so easily means their plotting to hijack the Pogba transfer? Perez has taken so many L's this summer, stealing Pogba from the club that sabotaged the De Gea transfer will endear him to all the Real fans

Only a crackhead would try to improve a midfield that has Modric, Kroos, James, Isco, Kovacic, and Casemiro. Why in the world would they need yet another mmidfielder especially one who plays in the same position as all but Casemiro?

But Perez is a lunatic so I don't put anything past him. Probably itching to make a purchase but Zidane may be keeping him on a leash.

Personally, I think Gomes didn't have the best of years last season and was a non-factor during the Euros but this is a good gamble for the team because he has played well and shown glimpses of genius in the past. I'm meh on this transfer though.

So transfer fee of 35 million + variables? Not bad at all.

Apparently we are very close to Vietto too.

All hail emperor Robert!

Corruption then, seeing as Valencia wanted 120 mill for him when Real made a bid, 60 mill wasnt good enough either. Simple as that.
Not that i particulary care, our midfield, except for dm, is stacked. Just that the competition is fair, then its ok.

I hope Madrid signs him for 60m+

Hehe, how quickly can the tables turn. :p

I really don't know what to think about this. On one side, Gomes is a good player, he's not a 40 mil kinda player, and he'll be taking minutes away from Denis and Rafinha, not to mention this also means Samper is going on loan, even though i really wanted him to stay and get a proper chance.

I guess this means the end for Arda...? Otherwise i really don't know where we're gonna put all of our midfielders. I guess Gomes (and Arda if he stays) are going to be first replacements for Raki and Iniesta, or Arda really is leaving, because he's too slow for the wings, while we're stacked at CM now. As for Gomes, I feel he might be Raki's replacement/alternative, while Denis will be Iniesta's. But is Gomes really a Xavi's mould of a player? I feel like he's more similar to Iniesta, and i really wouldn't want that, since we have an abundance of those types of players in the team already. But if he manages to somehow become Xavi's heir, that's fine. And if Arda really is leaving, i'd be fine with a swap Gomes-Arda deal this summer. Cause Gomes is younger and with more potential. I guess his arrival also means that Rafinha will hardly ever play in midfield anymore, only RW mostly from now on, while Sergi Roberto is also going to become a full time RB, also CDM, if Samper leaves on loan, although i really hope he stays nevertheless, cause i would really like for him to learn from Busquets and play instead of him versus easier opponents. While Denis will play on LW a lot as well.

If nothing else, i gotta hand it to Robert, fantastic job on actually getting our transfers done quickly and quietly, Gomes and Digne were total bombshells for me, this year is totally different from the past, when it was all rumours but nothing actually materialized. While this summer it's the other way around.

This guy has absolutely superb locomotion. I will not be shocked if he is a starter over Rakitic by the end of the season.

The magic number is 22

Andre Gomes: 22 years old
Umtiti: 22 years old
Digne: 22 years old
Denis: 22 years old

so guessing our forward singing will be Luciano Vietto since he is 22 years old too
