This guy is the main reason we got humiliated so bad. Their midfield was running rings around him. He looked like a schoolboy in a mans world. He doesn't do anything great. Not one single thing. The shittest player I've seen at barca for a long time.
There was one instance in the second half, he just let the PSG player run past him, no attempt at closing down or tackling. Messis allowed to do that but not this garbage player.

he looks scared out there. as if he started playing the game yesterday. 60mil for a guy that is afraid to play football. we could have got an energetic midfielder for 20mil, at least he would have hassled and tackled endlessly and not be afraid to commit into challenges.

I stand by my statement I made yesterday that Andre Gomes's performance was the worst I have ever seen from any Barca midfielder ever in all my years of watching Barca.
I can't even look back today after sleeping and say it was an overreaction. That's just how bad it was.
Gomes is the type of player who one day could aspire to become Marouane Fellaini. He's just that terrible.

He's a bad fit for us. He'd be great for Juve. But here, I can't see him ever finding a place. Not in this "setup", or in one that's possession oriented. But on the bright side, I don't think he can get any worse. Maybe he'll get better somehow. Just wishful thinking on my part, I know.

But: these are the players Enrique wanted, which fact in my eyes could easily tell his qualities as coach. Horrible.
He's been very lucky to have the MSN, a good Iniesta, Busquets, earlier Alves, so he could survive on the shoulders on these outstanding players.
But please - any of you - name a single game in his coaching carrier at Barca, when we TACTICALLY WON a single game!!!
Because even the best of the best need sometimes to win tactical games, and (tell me if I'm mistaken) Enrique hasn't win a SINGLE tactical battle against any opponent. And that's the problem, because it clearly shows his lack of capabilities in this regard, not to mention his Sancho Panza with the his childish notebook which no skilled coach needs to see the situation on the ground...
Enrique over-confidently announced in September, that this was the best material under his hands so far and that there will be constant ROTATIONS.
Rotations came indeed and the well established style was simultaneously gone!
By this (and earlier bringing here Arda and Vidal) he effectively dismantled a well working team and concept, by forcing immature and average players, as if they were the key to success.
First he played his game with Vidal (who is again a mediocre material), recently with Rakitic, made Roberto a RB which is a joke on the international level, allowed Alves to leave, and I can go on. This present state of the team is entirely his fault and hope he goes the soonest, along with his favorite Gomes, Arda and the rest of the below average bloomers...

Honestly if he was in Espanyol's squad he wouldn't actually be in the first 11 right now. Maybe seasons before but Espanyol are pretty impressive this season and Gomes is so bad. Lol.

He really doesn't fit the team. Average as a holding mid . Sub par in any other midfield slot. The high price tag is why enrique probably feels he needs to play him. He needs to justify the price. Dennis Suarez has been far more efficient than Gomes in my opinion.

It's easy to piss on the worst player on the field when the midfield is inexistent as a whole, the forwards dont link with the rest of the team and there is no gameplan. He is a good player, way above average and his career shows he is improving. He wasnt an absurd transfer because he is a good prospect, but that doesnt implies he is good enough for us or our style, but crucifying him when the whole team has been shit is easy.
We have been struggling in almost every game, we cant even start a play from a goal kick, if you don believe me then you didnt watch our games vs Atlético, Bilbao, Sevilla and many others. The system is the one to blame (meaning the coach) and we dont even press as Lucho's first season which makes our liabilities bigger.
Once again. he might not be a good fit, time will tell, but he is a good player.

The whole team is playing the worst football since i started watching them 20 years ago.
Some say we played good in 2015 but i dont agree. MSN played great, but we didnt play well as a team.
Tbh we havent played like the Barcelona we love since Pep left, actually Peps last year werent that great.
The board STILL tries to ride on the succeswave 8-10 years ago.
