Maybe a friend of Gomes; I can't imagine him holding onto possession of something for that long

Gomes added defensive strength and so does Paulinho. I am no fan of defensive strategy , but with team barely taken rest from last week game ... this is a descent negative tactics. Just look at the chances created Barcelona vs Atletico. Barcelona did create a lot of chances when compare to Atletico. However i do belive that Barcelona should have scored few more goals. The Barcelona defence nullify the Atletico's counter and attack.

he has horrible balance. i always seem him falling down like a clown
he is like a desease which sounds such a horrible way to talk about a fellow human being.
Probably a nicer man than most of us which is why the barca players, manager is talking like this.
There is a easy way out without any of this hurt, insults, booing, defending him and that is by simply dropping him.
I am pretty sure they all know his time is up but he must be such a nice person that they want him to do well and are finding a way to give him some sort of glory but it ain't happening.
If they set anything up on a plate for him he will turn it to muck instead of gold.
He's got to be the nicest thing since jesus for them to react to him in this way. It defintley is not for his football ability.
I am pretty certain he doesn't transform into Diego Maradona in practise.

above all the flaws mentioned what i find horrible in him as a player is the time needed for.a 360 spin or even 180.. it is like a bus taking an acute turn.. he needs a full second for those turns. his height is not the reason, it is just extreamly poor agility.

Gomes spent most of the game far out wide while AM kept attacking us through the middle over and over again. How does he have defensive strength? Because he's tall? He is slow as hell and he has no idea how to defend. He charges forward and they push the ball to the side and they are not only already past him but he leaves a huge hole. Too slow to get back quickly for counters. Offers nothing going forward. 9/10 times he looks instantly upon getting the ball for someone sideways to backwards to pass too. He doesn't look to do anything, all that's on his mind is how fast can I get rid of the ball.
Keita was a very specific, role oriented player for us but he had twice the football intelligence Gomes has. Coutinho read the game, defended counters and intercepted more passes than Gomes and he's 10x the attacking player he is on top of it. Absolute rubbish player.

I will get a lot of bad responses for this, but he is much better than Paulinho & Vidal for that spot tbh. That isn't speaking much of him than the other btw
