Andrea Pirlo

What about Pirlo's absence from CL or Europa for 1st 6 months. All the players in FIFPro 11 have had great european cups during 2011-12 . Don't you think there were many good individual performers left out who had better club record in 2012 ? example Ribery ,Oezil

I think Iniesta deserved his place, Xavi as much as i love the man did not. It is a farce he wasn't in the top 3 but i've learned these awards are a bit of a joke as the years have gone by so nothing much suprises me.

Execept for the fact he wasn't included in the XI, i mean come the fuck on.
haha don't act like Alonso and Xavi didn't deserve it. Alonso had a better case than Pirlo .Xavi had great Euros and played in CL semis.

Buffon, Lahm, Pirlo and Bonucci should have been in that team.

Pirlo's performances in the euros should override he lack of european success at club level.

Bonucci ?
Lahm and Ashley Cole -these 2 can claim the spot of RB and LB respectively.I would vote for them.Probably Ramos & Pique too weren't the best CBs overall but that is debatable. But others are fine.
Compared to some past FIFPro 11 it is a very good selection .

If you read carefully i didn't blame FIFA anywhere for this list. Im a knowledgeable guy and know how Fifpro is selected. I dont know what went wrong in the voting but that list is crap
And are you seriously defending that Fifpro lineup?

It wasn't only directed at you, read the other comments. How can you complain about a list that's just based on opinions? According to 50.000 people those were the players that deserve it. According to you, the list should've been different and that's fine as well. I just find it absolutely ridiculous that people are offended if a certain player isn't included  Do you remember last year's 11? Well I for one don't. It's just a stupid line-up to give their little show some length.
Was the "GOAL OF THE YEAR" the most beautiful goal scored last year? No.

Calma, calma
According to 50.000 people

Totally off-topic, but I'm just curious about something. 50 thousand is usually written as 50,000 in North America, Australia and Asia afaik (i.e they use a comma). I've noticed that a lot of people on this forum use a dot/period to represent the separator. Is this something that is particular to Europe? Or in some European languages?

Casillas/Cech
Lahm...Hummels...Ramos....Ashley cole
Xavi...Pirlo...Iniesta
Messi...Falcao...Ronaldo

I'd run with that but yes would put Buffon or maybe Neuer as the gk. I don't think Cech really deserves it just because his team successfully parked the bus in the CL final (look at Chelsea's league position last season and you'll see why he was overlooked), much like Casillas doesn't really deserve it despite Spain winning the Euros and Madrid winning La Liga. It was more of a team effort rather than him doing anything spectacular. Honestly I see him make as many mistakes as Valdes does nowadays yet he doesn't get the criticism for it.

Alonso had a better case than Pirlo

How? Xabi Alonso was not the driving force carrying the team, dictating play like Pirlo was. In fact, Xabi is often a hindrance to Spain NT's play (note this is not his fault but mostly a matter of compatibility and flow, fitting into the formation if Busquets is also on the pitch, etc). He did have that game in the Euros where he scored twice so he does deserve some recognition, but 1-2 games where he made a difference is not the same as being the best player on the pitch for your country on a constant basis, and being the main reason why they made it to the Euro final - and this is not even mentioning how important he also was for Juve last season.

Yes, some European countries (not sure on all which do this) write it like that, also they use a comma where a decimal place would be in North America (so for example the price of something, would say like 4,50 instead of 4.50). A European person might be able to explain it better I guess.

I think they should do the world 11 as two players in every position, to give more variety and make more people happy.

Something like this, in other words.

---------------------Casillas/Buffon-------------------------
--Lahm/Alves--T. Silva/Hummels--Ramos/Pique--Alba/Baines--
----Xavi/Pirlo-----Alonso/Busquets---Iniesta/Schweinsteiger--
----Messi/RVP-----Falcao/Ibrahimovic------Ronaldo/Ribery---

Probably not that, but a World XI + a bench of 7 subs would be able to include some of those people who should have been there but just didn't make the cut for whatever reason.

All I know is it's done in Sweden and most likely the other countries in Scandinavia. Not in England however.

As far as I know it is done in most European countries, as Deco 20 said, besides England. But we all know they like to be different just for the sake of it :D
We use it the other way around. A half = 0,5 whereas you would say 0.5

I found this map: Green = comma, blue = full stop, red = Arabic mark I don't know the name of.
