Maybe to give enough power so as to be fast enough not be intercepted in between or being mishit

Basically you're supposed to let your leg move like a pendulum when shooting, and the same thing applies to certain passes. Why? It improves contact, power and puts less strain on the leg I think.


* Might be wrong, but atleast I've read that when shooting you're supposed to kick 'through' the ball, and I guess it's for those reasons
