I agree, because Gerrard fits Liverpool's system, it's an absurd practice to ask whether certain players should replace certain players when they're not required to perform the same function within the team.

04-05, iniesta played over 30 games in the league was one of our best players.
05-06, iniesta was the most used out field player in the team, came on in the CL final and help changed the game, cesc in that final epic failed, as he as been doing throughout his career, when the team really needs him, even back to his masia days, and he knows it, he said i left barca because the club was focusing on pique and messi who were better than me and i know i wouldn't get a start,with INIESTA and xavi already their.
08-09, He wins the treble, scoring in the Semi finals and creating the opening goal in the final.
so in conclusion, he would make arsenal a better team, by making the players around him better, and that's how TEAMS win. you will learn this someday, and realize that cesc has won nothing, outside of what inesta helped him to win, in his statistically full career.
If Chelsea replaced Lampard with Iniesta will Chelsea be a better or worse team? Better, why?, he has helped his team to two CL titles, the thing that Chelsea wants the most, but lampard has FAIL to help the team get.

If Iniesta was really that good could he carry Barcelona if Messi and Xavi got injured; 04-05,05-06, xavi was poor and injured, messi was always injured, ask Rijkaard who he would trust to bring on when the game needs changing, the most in those two seasons. ask rijkaard and deco who they would rather seem in the midfield in the most difficult games.

I can't conclude anything with only one piece of data, but it's an extremely convincing and interesting statistic. How about win/loss charts with Xavi and Messi? 
I thought he implied that Lampard was better than Zizou as i mentioned earlier
Also one more thing to add especially for Justin. Though this is of course just one example and doesn't *prove* anything..but nontheless a nice little moment that has some bearing on this thread..
