Andrés Iniesta

So your saying he was not as consistent, yes of course... everyone knows that.. but he was still a better player and talent, when he was at his best he was really extraordinary, Iniesta doesn't come close...

He was a better player in 1 out of 3 or 4 games, the rest he was regular or useless. Iniesta is exellent in 25-30 of the 60+ matches he plays every season. Maradona was exellent in 15, the rest he was just regular. f we break itt down to a 10 grade scale, Iniesta plays 5 games below 5, atleast 40 matches a year above 7, of those 25 were above 8 and 15 above 9. Maradona played every season 20 games below 5, he played 20 above 7, of those 15 above 8 and 10 above 9. When he played his A game, Maradona was a much better player, but that was like 10 matches a year. In that regard, Iniesta runs circles around Maradona as he almost never underperform. And Maradona played in both a strong club and national team so not even that argument can be used. Iniesta is just on a whole different level when it comes to perform day in day out.

I agree with Xtroverto's point for the most part, but in all honesty, Iniesta was really bad for a good part of this season... But that was really unexpected of him, I admit. He's usually very consistent.

He is one of the key players that really need to be firing on all cylinders tomorrow night if we're going to progress. I'm most worried about Pinto having a "Benny Hill" moment or two again, though.

No he wasn't.

Also, I've just read the past ten pages so a few comments might seem a bit late but have to be said..

1 - It's crazy that he's widely rated as bad or mediocre at defending, especially when both the importance of positional intelligence in defense and his near-to peerless level in that regard are both generally recognized around here.

2 - It's also crazy to put Busi on the same level as Iniesta & Xavi. I'm a huge fan of the guy, but no chance. He looks as good when the team is on point and outplaying opposition, but when they're disjointed and rattled and a quality team is asking serious questions, he's nothing like them at being able to keep calm and turn the momentum around.

Iniesta: "500th Barcelona game? Very special number. Makes me very happy. It shows I can still play at a big club after a long time" [sport]

Must have a total of 3 yellow cards to get a 1 match ban. He's on 2 at the moment.
3 gets u a match ban in CL.. Anyway he only needs to avoid a yellow in the coming match. If, God willing, we do reach the Semi-finals 2 of his yellows would be cancelled and the count starts again... Or do they get cancelled only after semis?

I don't they cancel any yellow cards at any point of the competition. Alves missed Roma 2009, bunch of Chelsea and Bayern players missed the 2012 final all because of yellow cards accumulation.
