That's true but at least we will be paying 70 million for a moderate success not someone who flops big time like Falcao,Shevchenko etc. because if he fails to impress us than we loan him out (will goals for loaned club count?) or cut our losses.The downside of these clauses is that he'll be under extra pressure to impress early on in order to stay at United long term (what if he's just okay and not world class and spurs come in with 20 million bid?We may be tempted to sell him because on top of transfer fee we can also avoid paying the clauses) and talking about national clauses Giroud has played just 39 games for France so far so he'll have to de really well to play 25 times in 4 years considering his age...

25 goals and caps in the span of 2 or 3 seasons would really be nothing out of this world, so hardly be worth 70M.

there is no way, those clauses are for over the period of contract.....Lol...LMAO. i can't believe if those clauses are not for a year , but for over 4-5 years. Stupidiest deal if thats the case.

25 caps in 1 season isn't possible and even in 4 seasons it'll be difficult although he may play fairly regularly for France because they'll not be playing any competitive games for a while..

Starts plus subs, 25 caps is a realistic incentive to give to the selling club, for addition 10 m.. Over four years, thats just stupidity,, even if united thought its a ways of reducing the risk of bad investment, as he definitely is going to get more than 25 chances to prove himself in any case.
